Oh no! I’m so sorry for teasing with pictures of cheese!

Haha it’s all good! It’s giving me a fantasy list to build for what I’m gonna get when I can eat cheese again

Does anyone else occasionally accidentally click on “Badges” and then you look at your badges and you’re like “that’s cool, I got prizes”?

I think earth island does a smoked gouda, almost as good as the real thing. I can’t promise availability on your grocery day, at your grocery store.

Ok another question, but this one is harder because it’s more personal: how much stuff to you keep from a deceased person? Or pets? As I’m cleaning stuff out around the house it’s interesting that items are not mine, but things from others- I may not have huge attachment to the item, but it was given to me or was a momento from that person. I know this is a difficult question.

Thank you!! I might have to look into that, get myself a little treat. I got the Follow your heart cheddar slices, and as far as I can tell they don’t have anything I’m sensitive to (soy), but they still really upset my stomach :disappointed_relieved: no idea why. I do a lot of coconut products normally and especially right now so it’s not that. Bah. Why do new foods have to be such a gamble for me?

All about whether that item is either useful in and of itself, or whether the sight of it helps me as a remembrance of the person. If it’s something I just have in a box somewhere or just gathers dust on a shelf and conveys obligation of keeping it rather than fond memories I jettison them. (In general not a very sentimental person.)

We’ve been through a few different versions of this. In general, if the item is associated with fond memories of the person, and we don’t have a ton of things from them, we keep it around.

In the case of my wife’s father where we handled his entire house and estate, I handled evaluation of items, donated things that no one was actually going to take but were in good condition, threw out things that no place would actually take, and made sure people knew that if they didn’t show up when they said they would to take their stuff, it was going in the dumpster. Oh, also shredding documents. We hired that out. So many banker boxes of documents…

I don’t have much to begin with, as my mother has been very uh…stingy with me, with the heirlooms. I’ve actually acquired what I have from my siblings, small pieces of furniture from my great grandparents.

To me it’s a balance of sentiment and use. I will almost always prefer a piece of furniture that still has place or use over something newer. Books I can be more picky with, keeping the books I enjoy most or the ones that have the most sentiment.

Jewelry is small and can be placed elsewhere for safekeeping if needed (safety deposit box) and easily passed on to other children in the family when they reach an appropriate age.

An item has use if you look at it or pick it up and it reminds you of your loved one. You don’t necessarily have to use it for the object’s intended use.

How big is a 50 pound bag of flour? Is it comparable to a 50 pound bag of dog kibble? Found one to order, finally, and going to need to make some freezer space.

I think so. I have a bag I can take a pic of. Need to find something for scale. Have no bananas.

Thanks. Coffee cup for scale? Or a mason jar? Or a can of beans, etc?

I’m having a day where it feels like none of my clothes fit properly any more and I’m this close to ordering 3 things on Eshakti. I know some people here have ordered stuff from there before - would you recommend? I’m 6’3 and getting clothes that fit is such a lottery.

Paging @AllHat as I think she’s used them.

I haven’t used them myself but friends have, and the quality seems good.

At 5"11 on a good day (5"10 on a short day) I like Boden, which isn’t personalised to fit but does sell most items in petite, regular and long.

If it’s white flour, unless it will take you like 6 months to get through it, not sure I would worry about freezing it. Unless you’re worried about pests getting in?
