Also tons of little fabric shops now have websites so if you know the names of independent shops it’s worth looking for them too. I know the shop near me is working to catch up with ecommerce now that all this is going on and she will ship

This is good to know! I don’t know about local ones to me. :frowning: There used to be a corner fabric store nearby but they shut down last year I think. If the shop near you is looking for business feel free to DM me (presuming you want to keep the location confidential) and I’ll check them out!

I mostly use Denver Fabrics if I buy fabric online, they have deep sales all the time.

I think I shared this on another thread, her website is www.stitchsewshop.com.

Please don’t stalk me friends, remember we’re social distancing. :joy:

I have Plantronics Backbeat Fit headphones that are fairly comfortable for a few hours. They’re exercise headphones that go in-ear like an earbud but hook over the ear so don’t constantly pop-out or need a specific fit like true earbuds. The weight on top of my ears eventually gets uncomfortable but much better than the side clamp pressure of most on or over ear headphones I’ve tried.

And if you want just really basic on-ear wired headphones I have owned several pairs of these until switching to Bluetooth and even with my giant head they weren’t overly tight with pressure on my ears.

Oh, those rayon fabrics are gorgeous. I have no plan for that fabric type currently though. :<
Rayon is mostly for drapey shirts and dresses, right?

Depends on the weight and the weave. Rayon just means it is a fabric made of wood pulp fiber. It can generally be very smooth and nice feeling but the weave determines a lot of fabric qualities. She raves about her rayon all the time but I don’t remember which ones she uses. I use a midweight rayon jersey for tops/dresses all the time. A majority of my line is rayon. But I think a lot of hers is woven if I’m not mistaken.

So I get free Showtime and Epix for a few weeks from Spectrum. Any recommendations? Is Borgias any good?

How do I get the cat to stay off the table when he seems to regard getting on the table until I throw him off or spray him with water as a fun game that we are playing together? Either that or a deliberate act of defiance…

  1. Put cat in another room and close door
    or
  2. Give in to the inevitable

If you have a suitable box you can try to compromise by making a cat trap:

Some cats need more persistent methods than others. My current cat takes a while but eventually does avoid the thing I want him to avoid. What works is also different based on the cat, but my go to is usually tape, sticky side up, all over the surface of item. I have a roll of tape made for cats and furniture that’s double sided and about 6 inches wide that I’ve used on pretty much everything.

Other things I’ve used: save a bunch of containers and fill them with noisy things and line them up on the edge of table/counter.

Save a bunch of containers and fill them with water on the edge of the table/counter.

Set a table runner just so, so that every time he jumped he fell. This was more for my entertainment; it was not a good long term solution and most often led to him attacking my feet afterward

You say “no cats on the table rule” and move him off, very systematically so that neither of you lose the fight.

My bedroom door jams hard enough I fear not being able to open it. My cat has learned exactly where to throw himself at it repeatedly to eventually break in, when he’s been excluded. They are persistent love balls

Pet help! One of the cats keeps vomiting and trying to eat plastic. What’s the deal? HTbF has tried to offer her grass, if she’s missing roughage or greens or something, but she doesn’t eat it.

random plastic or one specific plastic thing?

Bits of various plastic bags.

My old cat used to do this. It can signal a tummy upset (especially a hairball), but sometimes it’s Just Because. And some cats just fricking love plastic because they’re giant weirdos.

Bah, I meant to tell you earlier. Vet says it’s most likely a stress response. No need to get too worried as long as cat is not eating something like long strips of plastic which would lead to a linear foreign body and surgery. Gnawing on bots of plastic shouldn’t get to that level.
