Ugh feed me.

Yeah, or chop it up fine! I’ve never tried putting chicken in a food processor, you may know better than I about this.

I never have either. It kinda horrifies me but hey at least it’s cooked already

I’ve definitely shredded cooked chicken with a hand mixer. It’s fun.

In terms of ergonomics, is it worse to look down at the screen constantly or have the keyboard too high?

Can you switch? Switching is better

I’m assuming laptop use. For me personally I can’t do hands at a bad position for really any length of time, but I could put up with looking down at a screen until I got something like an extra keyboard which allowed me to have the laptop screen up high but keyboard at proper height.

Yeah, it’s a laptop and really nothing about my current set-up is anywhere near optimal. I’m at a dining room table so my wrists are too high, but the screen is still pretty low.

Switch between the two?

If you can get an external keyboard, that will give you a lot of flexibility. Any luck with that option?

Should I get a tortilla press? I’ve mostly just been using a flat bottomed bowl or pie plate to press out corn tortillas. Is a tortilla press significantly awesomer? Will it rock my world? Or will I be pissed that I spent money and kitchen space on one?

My tortilla press is rarely used, but when it is used I have strong feelings of love. It is small and flat and so storage isn’t an issue. I vote yes.

H says put your laptop up on a stack of books and buy an external keyboard, he has recommendations for keyboards anywhere from $10-$1k. He also says that if you’re at the dining table you can then put the keyboard in your lap and use pillows to support your arms to get the correct angles.

Anyone know where I can buy flour online? My regular restaurant supply is out and apparently all of the greater DMV area has decided to get really into baking so I can’t even buy my usual order of 2, 5lb bags a month.

I have been stress baking in addition to my regular baking and I’m afraid to continue if I can’t get more flour since that will also cut my access to pizza. And as we all know, pizza is life.

If Amazon Fresh delivers in your area (and they aren’t striking), I found flour there.

Of course, the pic made it look like a normal bag and I didn’t read the description so I thought I was hording it by buying 2 packages but they were 1lb each…so tiny!

The only thing they had available was bleached all purpose but we’ll make do (the good stuff will be reserved for keeping the sourdough starter happy)

ETA: A place near me that does their own milling also seems to be doing shipping still. Most of their products are very high protein flours: https://www.gristandtoll.com/shop/

No flour here, nor oats, nor rice, nor cornmeal, nor even dried beans. My current plan is to middle through on meat and vegetables until October and then make acorn flour. I’m not sure this is a good plan.
