I am trying to remember a word or phrase. It’s possible I just imagined that there is something more specific for this use, because I’ve been trying to think of it for two days and have consulted a thesaurus without success.
It’s something like relevant, or popular, or in the zeitgeist. I’m thinking of a topic that is always interesting, but sometimes it pops up and becomes more interesting. An example would be if someone had written a book about rocket launches, which always has an audience, but the potential audience got bigger with a rocket launch in the news (since there was a SpaceX launch recently, right?) so they would do more promotion for the rocket launch book because the topic is now… whatever the phrase I’m looking for is.
Mr. Meer and I used to work with a woman who adopted a son about the same age as Kiddo. Her husband has been fighting colon cancer basically since the beginning of the pandemic. Recently she took a leave of absence from work because it looked like the end was near and he had maybe a month left. Now it looks more like 24 hours.
I wouldn’t say we’re super close friends but also if she’s been dealing with her husband constantly needing medical treatments, an active kid, working full time, and oh yeah a pandemic I feel like she wouldn’t have a ton of time to develop friendships. She does have a bunch of people responding to her Facebook posts and people donating to a gofundme so she can afford to take time off work.
(I had had intentions of getting the families together, or at least the kids together, before things got to this point but too late for that now.)
A long time ago my dh was critically ill and I was juggling 3 kids, and a friend showed up with groceries, like snacks and tp and Kleenex and cat food, and I remember that as one of the nicest things anyone has ever done.
Is there music I can listen to that won’t make my headache worse? (Waiting for ibuprofin to kick in.) Nothing thumpy like EMD/industrial/etc., I had to skip a song that had piano in it because the individual notes were also too “thumpy”, high pitched flute or violin is also out. Buuuuut I also want something that isn’t going to put me to sleep.
When I have migraines I put on an audiobook for a book that I know really well. Listening to it helps focus my brain on something other than the pain from the migraine until the meds kick in. I choose one where I know the story really well because if I drift off to sleep I won’t miss anything.
Would anyone else be interested in productivity sprints? Like somewhere that’s just like, chat about what you’re doing, and then ok ten minutes of productivity… Go!!! Worky worky worky done! How was your sprint?
