Less expensive green, but I haven’t found chair fabric. I’ve decided I don’t want a leather chair. They will do customers own fabric, which is expensive of course. I’ve ordered a few samples and should have them next week.

But what if it’s uncomfortable? I would really like to sit on it before I buy it…. I can still shop more, there’s a bigger town an hour away and another one maybe 1.5 hours, but I feel like if I’ve seen the fabric options for 8 companies, will there be much more out there? The store owner said she’s hearing that color is coming back, but I’m sure prices are just going to keep going up.

I expected to spend at least $3000 on the couch but not close to double that. And I know I’m being picky, but the shapes of things aren’t exactly what I had in mind. Can I live with it? Sure. But should I have to? Maybe not for the cost. Dunno. It’s hard! Another reason to look into reupholstering, but I know that’s not cheap either. But at least i already know I like the shape of my stuff and how it sits.

Also, this is at the store and is gorgeous. But I don’t think I want to live with an orange couch for the next 15 years. It’s literally the only colorful piece in the store and it’s $5200.

For that price you should be able to drive it.

Does anyone have like an app that they like for timing run/walks? You know, run for two minutes walk for two minutes kind of thing? Surely such a thing exists?

If I do an Amazon return of a gift, will the sender know I’ve returned it?

Do you want to control it or have it direct you? The NHS couch to 5k podcast was really well paced for me and I liked their music, I’ve done it a couple times. Free, too.

From a registry? I believe that’s the only way to return an Amazon gift.

No, it came with a gift receipt for return.

I want to listen to podcasts in between segments. So I guess I want to control it? But maybe I should try to the couch to 5k and see how I do with someone else pacing me…

According to this, they won’t know with a gift receipt:

I think there are multiple couch to 5ks and you could probably find one that works with your own music/podcasts

Actually pretty sure zombies run has a couch to 5k program but I don’t want to listen to podcasts when I do that app because I don’t want to listen to two stories at once.

I use MapMyWalk, which is a free Under Armour app. I’m not sure if it would work for you since you want to do interval training but it does give you the average pace per mile so you could still track your typical speed overall. I like it because I can just tap it on and go and I find the split pace per mile to still be informative even though I’m also doing interval stuff sometimes.

I loved the zombie run app. It uses the couch to 5k program and has a story line that it tells you, but in between it plays whatever music/podcast you tell it to play.

If you’re having friends over for a casual hang out possibly with food (grilling, BYO type situation) how far in advance would you invite people? I know it’s somewhere between same day and months in advance …

Ditto. Man it’s been forever since I used it, once I decided running was just not the thing. But I think I had a crush on Sam, the radio host.

It kind of depends on how well you know their schedules, and if you are relying on certain weather. But usually 1-2 weeks works for me - soon enough to plan, not so far out that it gets forgotten by the guests / they have something else come up they cannot skip.

I want to see everyone’s different norms in their friend groups! For me, 8 days to 3 weeks for a casual hang, with more time given if you want a higher % of people to come (eg if you’re trying to get a specific friend group together). 4 to 6 weeks for a bigger party, with the higher end of the range around holidays, spring break, etc. Notice of a few days can be high risk high reward, where maybe everyone is busy but also it feels great if it comes together organically at the last minute.
