We’ve had the same one for years. It works great, and cleans easily. +1 to saving a little prep time with little ones around, whether it’s pre-making in bulk, buying mix (I like Kodiak Cakes since it’s pretty hearty and only needs oil and water added), or bulk making your own mix.

Yep we buy the Trader Joe’s buttermilk mix. I tried to switch for the giant bag of Krusteaz at Costco one time. Boy that was a mistake. We had a pancake and waffle strike. Ended up giving it away through BuyNothing. Never again. :joy:

I also have that waffle maker and have had it for probably 10 years! Or something exceedingly similar from Cuisinart (it looks identical). I didn’t pay a lot.

Definitely not the cheap option but I have the Cuisinart Griddler with additional waffle plates. I like that it’s a multi function machine.

Ooh - we actually have this! I didn’t know you could get waffle plates for it!

Make sure you have the GR-4N version. If you have an older version the waffle plates don’t fit on it by a smidge. A very important, very frustrating smidge.

Well, the plates are more expensive than just buying the waffle maker on its own!

I don’t know how much the waffle maker is, but:

Ooh I’ve never used mercari. The waffle maker is $29.99 so this one is just slightly cheaper with shipping.

If you download the app you can also make an offer!

Ooooh I forgot, I have a referral link too. You can get an extra $10 off!

Ooh thank you! I’ll check to see if this will fit with our model!

We have a Chef’s Choice 852 that makes two square waffles at a time. It’s considerably better than the Cuisinart round one IMO (had one those for years until it died) but it is more expensive. I’ve used it heavily for 7 years now, was around $50 then, but more like $70 now

We took into consideration how particular our toddler can be and decided we wanted one that made waffles more similar to the eggos that she’s used to eating. We saw it in person at target this afternoon and it’s not really “mini” - they are eggo sized.

We have a dash mini waffle maker and it’s a good little thing, especially for the $10 I spent. A pain if you have to make many waffles, but we are usually just making a couple. Also great for making hash brown waffles. Or tator tot waffles.

Hey y’all my Dad is looking to eat beets after hearing about their health benefits. Has anyone ever cooked them in the air fryer? I figured I could just cook them in the air fryer like I do the potatoes.

Yes! The reviews looked good, but we opted for the one that makes 4 at once instead of the cheap one that only makes one.

Does anyone know about self-publishing under a pen name and if that means you should get a DBA (Doing Business As)? I’m feeling a little overwhelmed and the internet resources aren’t quite cutting it

I’ve never made them in the air fryer but I make beets all the time (and use my air fryer a lot). I think it would totally work! You might wrap them in foil or something though, just so they don’t get dried out. I’d use a recipe as loose guideline and season however he likes.

Cool. How do you cook them? Do you use them in recipes or cook them as a stand-alone side? Dad would just like to eat them on the side like he used to do his mixed greens.

I’ve never done the air fryer, but they are good cubed up and roasted like potatoes, so I imagine they would work well in the air fryer, as long as you used a little oil and like AllHat said, wrap in foil to not dry them out

My favorite way to make beets is to keep them whole (slice off the top/clean up a bit) and toss them in olive oil and sea salt, and then put them in a dutch oven. Bake for 1.5-2 hours at 300F and then just let them sit for about 30 min after taking out of the oven. The skins almost fall off, and then the insides are just soft and sweet and perfect.
