Yay!!

Once more
Woohoo! Now to remember for next time lol
Summary
Great job!
Ha. You even said don’t delete the quote marks, and I did anyway the first time. Once I read it correctly it worked. Imagine that.
What language does DIVINE rap in in this song??

I can’t get any translation to work on it and I can’t find that artist because it’s such a vague name. My cell signal is poor here, may be a factor. Halp? Someone’s Google fu plz?
ETA my guess is Hindi but like. Total guess?
I googled the band/collective and it seems likely that it’s either Hindi or Punjabi. I do not speak either so I can’t confirm.
I showed Marmalade the lyrics and he said it’s Hindi!
Thank you!!! And thank him for me as well I HATE when I can’t find answers, lol!
I will! He even translated it for me but I don’t remember much except for the bit about counting cash and then more stuff about money!
Haha it’s EDM lyrics, the contents matter very little
Does anyone know what this is?
I think it is an exhaust vent maybe?
Its in the ceiling of my laundry area, which originally was a tiled (on all sides including the ceiling around this) shower area (just a small stall shower, not bath). When the former owners renovated they upgraded the bath and turned this area into where the stacked washer dryer are, but left this thing.
It’s a problem because I can’t really reach it (dryer is in the way, the space is real tight)… and I suspect there is mouse stuck in there.
I went into the attic to try to figure out where it was, but I couldn’t figure it out immediately and couldn’t see anything (I mean, it’s a mess up there). I’m going to have to measure and try to figure out where it is.
Or else try to awkwardly unscrew any pieces I can reach to try to extract whatever is making noise. I don’t want a mouse to die in my ceiling directly above my laundry.
It looks like an exhaust fan to me! Yikes on possible mouse
Yeah that will smell really bad.
I downloaded your photo and rotated it. It’s a Nutone 688RP-8
I think you are on the right track with taking it apart to rescue whatever is in. I’d try to have a cat in the room (mine will never cooperate when I want them for a project like this), a bin to catch whatever it is, and a plan in case it’s something much bigger / dangerous than a mouse.
Oh - those wires are probably hot, it looks like there’s an outlet there? Be aware of any exposed connections, hopefully there’s no risk but just in case.
Good catch on the ID!!
So… the noise has stopped. It has either escaped, or died. I guess I wait until tomorrow to see if it starts up again, and then try to figure out how I can disassemble it (there’s like… I don’t know… a foot of space between it and the top of the dryer, so it’s not easy). I mean, we know there are mice in the house, though there isn’t like an infestation of them or anything. It’s possible it managed to get out of wherever it was, I suppose it’s possible it was never trapped to begin with (though it sure sounded like it, it was persistent noise that only stopped when I banged on it or made noise near it).
Good point about the wires maybe being live, I have no idea if they are or not, and I would not have thought about that. They did some renovations but some things were disconnected and some things were just… not. So I’ll need to do it when it is sunny and just flip the main breaker for the whole house, because although the individual breakers are labeled, I wouldn’t actually trust them.
Something my electrician friend taught me: never hit the switch for the whole house. Flip off each breaker first, and then the whole house. It’s really hard on the system and can damage things if you just shut off power to the house.
(I was told this after a lifetime of just flipping the big switch and nothing bad happening, but I trust the provenance of the advice)
If you have a multimeter, if you see any exposed wires, you can test them to see if they are hot.
Edited for clarity
I did not know this!
I don’t, it’s something I had on my list to get but I got overwhelmed with the choices and I didn’t know what was “good enough”…
SirB’s was pretty cheap and he uses it professionally. Want me to find the link for what he uses?
ETA never mind he uses “cheaper” relative to his other equipment lol. He says he DOES have a recommendation for a cheaper home use one though. Tot bedtime then we’ll do the link.
