Been looking at those sort, and you used to be able to sort by individual sellers, but it doesn’t seem to work well yet.
I’d like to hear what you’ve heard, actually. Neither of us is thrilled about the idea of having to buy without a test drive (or a look under the hood), but there are a couple interesting vehicles.
I wouldn’t leave anything valuable in the car overnight in a motel parking lot, but if someone is going to smash a window to grab a houseplant and a bag of snacks, then they’re just going to break a window and rummage through the car anyway.
We park the car where we can see it from the room window.
Hilariously, when my sister moved some stuff of my mom’s in a small UHaul trailer and parked it overnight in front of a friends suburban house, someone tried unsuccessfully to break into it. They would have been mightily disappointed to find that the contents were entirely old lady clothes.
My hairstylist bought a car through them, apparently there was a no questions asked trial period where you can return it for any reason. Like for a week or so, I think? She tried it out and had her mechanic look it over thoroughly, and if it had had issues she could’ve given it back. It had no issues and she’s very happy with it.
She says it does help if you have at least some sense of the specific make/model that you want.
FWIW @TrisPrior I moved from CO to AZ pulling a uHaul with all of my belongings and $20K of bikes in the back of my car, and parked overnight in a hotel parking lot in Albuquerque (which has a lot of parking lot break-ins). I called ahead and found a hotel that had overnight security in the lot, and told the person that my uHaul with everything I owned was outside and could he please keep an eye out for it. I stay at this same hotel multiple times a year when I make trips to CO and have never had a problem with like…everything I own (and $$$ bikes) piled up in my car overnight. I wouldn’t stay at just any motel, but if you know where you will be stopping, I highly recommend looking in advance, finding a hotel and calling and asking about parking lot security, if they have big floodlights, etc. I also picked a hotel that was near the airport, and not in the center of town which felt a lot safer.
That seems right to me. Any higher and it feels awkward. Consumables that are clearly very representative of a boss have gone down well (fancy kombucha).
The only ones I remember are scarves - just simple fleece ones - because we live in Florida and forget that it does get cold for a few days so we never get ourselves warm things because we forget and have hot weather again by the time we’re at the store. One is blue with polka dots, the other was an infinity scarf made out of Star Wars fabric. I think all my manager had to do was sew one seam per infinity scarf.
Oh, another manager gave us magnets the size of postcards with a few team pictures on them. Those became desk decorations.
My current glasses are 145mm. Am I going to be uncomfortable trying to go down to either 140mm or 135mm frames? Would really like to get something more fun/femme than my current pair but Costco only had frames I liked in 135 or 140. It was hard to judge comfort because I was disoriented from having my pupils dilated but some of them felt quite comfy.
Best places to look online? I know about Zenni, didn’t know if there were other recommendations that would have some fun, colorful frames?
I find for me I personally don’t like how I look with smaller frames but I have a larger/wider face for a woman. Some of it is comfort, and some is just the aesthetic for me. But then men’s frames seem really overwhelming and too big a lot of the time. I find as long as I get a 140mm + 52mm lens width (not all brands make this) it looks like a pretty good fit on my face. I always have to spend $$$ to get designer frames to get that 52mm lens width though. But there are soooo many cute frames that are just too small/not comfortable on me which is a bummer. I wish they made more variety of sizes in feminine frames, it’s so limited, even at places that carry really high end brands.
Been thinking about this a lot lately–why am I so so hungry in the mornings, like right when I get up, but my fiancé could happily go without eating til dinner? I would probably pass out or get too lightheaded to function if I tried. Jewish fasting days are pretty rough for me until about 3pm and then I’m OK. SO weird.
No, I think that’s pretty close. A lot of places now have digital or at-home try-on options, too!. Batsignaling @anomalily because she always has colorful fun ones!
In my experience, most online places have an abundance of larger vs smaller sizes! Excited for you to find some that fit. I have to buy literal children’s glasses and there aren’t many to choose from
I did see some I liked at EyeBuyDirect last night but I’ll probably look at Costco again next time I’m there, because I saw two pairs I really liked there, just need to try them on again for longer to judge comfort because I was in a rush to get home. I did post a couple pics in my journal though.
I may also have my backup pair of current frames changed over to my new prescription to give a baseline.
