It probably depends on the place you’re interviewing but the last time I interviewed at a more structured corporate place and interviewed with 4-5 people (one on one) they each gave me their card while walking me to the next interview. If any of them didn’t it was easy to guess their email (first name.last name@company.com) since I had others. I think I didn’t get one of them and couldn’t guess the spelling of his name so when I thanked the HR person I just said “I didn’t get X’s email address but I’d also love to thank him for his time in the interview, could you provide his email?” And she did
ETA: I sent email thank yous to the individual people and a paper card to HR. I was interviewing for an admin role so I figured that was where the effort should go, the other people 100% would not have cared about a card.
I believe with most hiring timelines these days (outside of, like, government) you’re better off doing emails. Last time I had a day-long interview with a lot of people I tried to remember to ask each of them for their email. They didn’t necessarily have cards but the second half of the email was always the same and the beginning was usually something like j.doe or a.johnson so it doesn’t take too long to jot down in your notes (always bring something to write on). No one even blinked at my request for their email, I don’t think it crossed their minds that I would spam them or whatever. It did set up the expectation that I was probably going to email them a thank you so it was an excellent way to show that you’re good on follow through.
Recently I was only able to get one email address, the person I was scheduling with, so I wrote an email to her but asked her to share it with [insert each first name]. A backup option would be to send that to HR and ask that they forward it to the manager/director, who can then forward it on.
https://podcast.duolingo.com/french This might be too easy for you, I couldn’t really evaluate it as I don’t speak French, but I listen to the Spanish ones and I love them. They are a little easy for me as I consider myself fluent but not adult-level fluent. I’m fluent like a child with limited vocabulary. I can say something just fine, but I won’t know six different ways to say it. I know a word for a thing, not all its synonyms, if that makes sense. Anyway, the intermediate level doesn’t get in the way of my enjoyment of the stories.
Yeah… The stories look okay, but not great. I’m hoping for one of the Francophones to chime in and help me find a directory of French podcasts. Or maybe I download a second streamy thingy ontoy phone and set my default to French. I have no problem after the first 30 seconds of comprehending things in French. I have lots of access to French movies and TV. I may end up doing audiobooks because I know how to find them. I was just really hoping that someone knew how to find the podcasts. The goal is maintenance and pleasure and long term brain and linguistic resilience, no interest in education. So like yoga or minimalism or murders. But I can also do romance or murder audiobooks
Recommended by one of my Alliance Francaise French teachers as a great resource. These are for fluent speakers, not primarily aimed as a language learning resource.
Where are y’all finding audiobooks in French? I tried searching my library to no avail a while ago. Reading/listening to books in French that I know well in English has helped me retain a lot ever since HS level French so I’d love to do it more
