Using the Google phone thing for a temporary number is your friend if you do this.
I think early afternoon is good for that. So 2 pm works.
Either works IMO but if they’re church people might not be home at 11
I don’t think this will be the best fit for your mom given the technology concerns, but for anyone else, I’d recommend these:
https://www.onekakana.com/ and/or
https://www.joyn.co/
These are exercise platforms (think Peleton) but aimed at people with disabilities, mobility restrictions, etc. They also both have a really diverse set of instructors and seem really inclusive, and both have chair yoga as well as other seated exercise options.
Thank you for sharing these, I’m excited to explore them
I am not out of my pajamas (or sometimes bed) at 11am on Sunday. I think 2 would be safer.
Yeah, same. Mid-afternoon is the way to go. Or you can be a creep like me and just pay freakishly close attention to their comings and goings to know when to run into them outside.
Didn’t know where else to put this so I’ll put it here. For all my chicken-loving friends here’s a link to Perdue Farms chicken sampler which is on sale right now for $78.99 with free shipping.

So, credit card sends a physical check for a account credit refund during the height of the lockdowns last summer, and I do not go to the bank because pandemic (I won’t tie my bank account to a mobile device, so no deposit by phone for me). Then I found the check, which was $235.00 and took it to the bank a couple weeks ago. It was old, but I figure Bank of America hasn’t closed their accounts, right? Wrong. It was returned and I was charged $10 for a returned deposit item.
Do I have any recourse to get my $235.00? I don’t care so much about the $10; I knew that could happen.
Not sure, but you could try calling BoA to see if they can reissue you a check, since often those type of checks have like a 90 day expiration on them when printed.
Or possibly also check with state unclaimed funds?
I think legally they have to give you your money, but I have no idea how you would go about doing it. Maybe start with emailing them? It shouldn’t be THAT hard for them to just reissue the check.
Maybe check to see if they sent it to your state’s unclaimed money fund.
Thanks all. Looks like I’m gonna have to do work and maybe talk on the phone. Dang it.
I want to buy one kettlebell, and I’m not sure which weight to get. I’m mainly deciding between 10# and 15#. Info about me: no current arm workouts but I lift cases of wine at my job (~40lb), female in her 30s, mainly want them to increase core strength. If someone experienced has an opinion, I’d love to hear it!
Are you going to be doing just 2 handed exercises or also one handed? If only 2 handed, definitely heavier. It’s easier to get proper form with a heavier bell. 15# might even be too light.
Agree. Two handed swings or Turkish getups, definitely go heavier.
ETA as a starting point on these I was at 35lbs and while I am tall, I was not insanely fit or anything. And I do my one handed work (curls etc) right now with 8lb hand weights so…. Butts are just strong lol.
I adore you.
Agreed.

Are you planning on using it mostly for swings or mostly for “grind” lifting like presses/squats?
Swings with too-light weight is harder to keep proper form in my experience. I learned form with no weight first, and doing swings with proper weight the first time was SO much better.
Even single arm swings will likely feel too light with 15# with your fitness level. I’d start more like 18# for single arm work.
Most people have a pretty big range between the weights that work well for presses vs swings vs squats vs deadlifts (like…I started with 8kg for single arm overhead stuff, 24kg for 2 hand swings, and 40kg for deadlifts at my gym). I’ve gotten away with using a lighter bell at home by doing only single arm swings, goblet squats, Turkish getups, arm bars, and really crappy cleans lol
The general rule of thumb I’ve heard is to use a weight where you can do 5 reps of whatever movement you’re doing, and when you can do 20 reps you want a heavier weight.
In my experience with my former gym where we were all older and have injuries, most people underestimate their weight needed and advance faster than they expect.
At home I only have lighter weights so I end up doing more single arm stuff than I would normally, but it took me a while to figure out what size bigger bell I wanted and now I don’t want to spend the money on a heavy bell
I just moved to a new house and it is…loud, and so I need to get some noise cancelling headphones for working and studying. Is it best to just go with the expensive ones like Bose or Sony, or are there budget options that are actually good and completely silent?
