I have a ninja. It comes with a normal blender cup thing and also individual smoothie cups. Best of both worlds.
Thanks!
We have a ninja too and it’s nice. I’ve never tried any other brands but the ninja is good.
Have they never seen Crocs?
Do you have one of those corner cabinets that swallows your pots and pans? My upgrade choice would be to have a built-in thing that pulls out and spins or something installed in a Bermuda Triangle cabinet. I’d also change all or almost all of my lower cabinets to drawers. I don’t know if you were looking for quite that expensive of an upgrade, but my mind goes to the kitchen because I’ve been cursed with terrible kitchens for years.
Robots. Robot vacuum, robot mop. Better yet, a regular housekeeping service!
We have this now! The $300 in the child credit we get every month, we decided the best way to circulate that in our community plus improve our life was to hire a local lady to do some cleaning for us. Every other week she comes and cleans bathrooms, kitchen, vacuums, mops, etc for a few hours. It’s LOVELY.
Luckily, while we have the dead corner cabinet space we’re spoiled with so much lower cabinet space that it doesn’t matter. I have just like, my gigantic soup/canning pot back there. Our kitchen is HUGE. It’s only real issue is that it lacks a real pantry, but that’s fine.
Induction range…
That was the very first upgrade we made to our new house sold the one the house came, got a used induction, all in all only cost us $160 to upgrade to an induction range with a convection oven.
I love this intentional spending!
I wish I could talk Mr. Meer into doing either this or a yard service but so far he’s always been against recurring hired services. He didn’t grow up with that so it’s weird to him and he says we can just do it ourselves whereas my parents hired out everything they could so I’m like “But we could help provide a job for someone else (and also then we wouldn’t have to do the yard/clean the bathrooms)”
It is VERY weird for me. I didn’t grow up that way either, and always saw it as a mark of frankly dirty privilege. But the pay off is very direct- it directly results in more one on one time between Latte and SirB, because of a whole task shuffle I won’t bother to map out lol. And I really felt we had an obligation in a way, doing as well as we are through the pandemic and everything, to directly improve money circulation in our community. It worked for my brain, for sure.
I forgot! I remember your disappointment when the new house didn’t have an induction.
My new range has an air fryer setting for the oven. Spouse bought the special rack accessory, hoping for fried food, but I keep thinking about the mess!
Since you mentioned a new bed frame… we are over-the-top gadget people, and bought one of those adjustable bedframes, where you can prop up the top or the foot areas (I would describe it as a hospital bed). It is an absolute gamechanger and I never want to be without it again.
We did this with the yard. So very very worth it. It’s not much honestly, and it saves so much hassle.
If the person you use also is willing to come down to Portland and wants more clients, can you DM me their information? We are looking for a cleaner.
I rarely have anything helpful to add to this thread but I always click on it because of @FIFoFum’s Muppet in the picture.
Same.
@Bracken_Joy for food storage we bought a bunch of snapware but rather than getting mix and match sets we picked 2 lids and bought only things that went with them. I love it. Ikea has similar sets now that do the same thing. IG also keeps advertising the zip top containers that don’t require a lid and are silicone which is appealing but we like our set up.
My older kid goes to a school where he does 2 days a week at an internship and the other 3 in the classroom. He needs to find an internship for this year and I’d like some help thinking of ideas. He wants a placement that fits with his interest in chem and bio. The issue is that most labs won’t take a teenager because they deal with private medical info or classified info or both. What private businesses hire biologists or chemists, and don’t handle sensitive data?
What kind of bio? (Cellular/micro, botany, wildlife)
