That’s how my kids felt when we took them to the south a couple of summers ago. We are not dry here in the PNW, but the humidity is coupled with cold. When it’s warm here, (like right now omg so hot we’re dying!!!) it is also dry. And when it’s dark, it’s cool. So we walked out of the airport in Charlotte at about midnight into the warm, wet air and my kids were completely dumbfounded. Daughter actually said, “What’s wrong with the air??” Husband and I laughed and laughed.
Yes! Me & Pedialyte diluted about 50/50 are GREAT FRIENDS from May-September
I live in upstate NY so I am lucky enough to slather lotion on 9 months or the year and get nauseated from the humidity the other 3!
Also, pro tip: you can buy Gatorade in powder form and mix it yourself! Depending on how you feel about lugging jugs of it home from the store + diluting it vs the effort to mix it from powder, of course.
Was it @meerkat who was looking for a tablet? I just saw that Amazon has one for half price if you have prime.
Garol the working cat is home! Question for all you cat lovers: where do you store unused kitty litter before it goes into the litter box?! Would it be OK to stash it in a shed outside that may get up to 90+ degrees inside?
It turns out this question is ungoogleable, since every result is about where to put a litter box.
I store it in a utility closet with a bunch of other bulk things (cleaning supplies, rice, etc.). I used to live in a place that def got 90+ indoors and our cat litter was always fine so I assume it would be ok in your shed too?
Also that’s a really good floof. I like the one curled in paw and the one extended paw. V polite.
I keep the extra buckets of litter in the garage. There’s even a litter box out there, often Lil Bug’s favorite. It most certainly gets above 90F. I never thought twice about it and she still uses the litter so I think it’s OK?
If you purchase litter in bags - I’m not sure if they are waterproof. If the shed takes on water when it rains, make sure it will stay dry.
I think controlling moisture is more important than heat. Inside plastic bins should help.
You can pretty well guarantee it gets hotter than that during transport to the stores. Also, it’s almost entirely bentonite clay, which gets as hot as the environment where the clay deposits are.
What is the baby in the Babies and Doggies book eating?
Sloppily formed Jell-O ?
SO SLOPPY. I’m just like… liquid jello? Strawberry bisque? What are we talkin here? I read this way too much so I have far too much time to think about it.
Just looks like a big bowl of tomato sauce/ketchup. Mmmmm yum
According to Amazon reviewers, soup.
I think you should ask the author/photographer. Or I might because now I really want to know.

The texture/shine looks wrong for soup, though. Weird.
My first thought was also jello, but it’s not chunky enough? I have no idea. I love the bowl, though It reminds me of some my grandmother used to have. I always used to feel so fancy eating my quaker oat squares out of such a pretty bowl.
So far the most compelling theory for me is the idea that it is Jell-O, but it’s not set yet, and his mom got sick of him asking when it would be ready, so she just made a giant bowl of liquid Jell-O.
My first take was ketchup.
This tracks.
It’s 8:45pm and just now getting to dark to read outside. Sunset was at 8:33. What time is sunset where you are? How do you feel about the extra or reduced hours of sunlight?
Happy belated solstice.
