Oh noes! This metal one is pretty indestructible: https://www.bodum.com/us/en/1312-16-bodum-columbia
I have that one! I really like it.
Any of the metal vacuum insulated ones will be a brave new world over glass
Humans and dogs and horses and lots of other creatures frequently have brown hair. Why don’t cats?
(This question is from my kid. I told him it’s because humans and dogs and horses rarely breed with cats)
It’s time for another round of mystery plant! Sorry for the quality.
So I bought a tumeric plant, which I believe is the plant on the left because that’s what I could see when I planted it. Now that it has been upgraded to a larger home a second plant (the tall one on the right) has sprung up.
Did I get a bonus plant? What is it?
It’s so very small. But it looks like corn to me.
Oh my gosh I SO hope I’m growing corn. Do you think I should split it and put it in its own house to see what happens?
I’m not sure how corn tolerates transplanting. I would wonder if it’s from bird feed though, and is field corn? That’s not nearly as tasty as sweet corn.
Ohhh, actually we do have a bird feeder on our deck. This…makes sense. Haha!
I have grown many a sunflower and corn stalk as a result of chicken feed
It could be corn, but it could be almost any grass, for that matter. Corn is a grass after all. And birds are very efficient at transferring grass seeds of various sorts.
Brown tabbies?
And then I realized, I can research and send evidence. Also, Percy has brown fur as well as black and white. Mostly black, but still.
Near as I could tell when researching it, “because there isn’t a gene for it”. Which isn’t a very satisfying answer. But apparently the brown cats that exist are either red+black, or a mutated black gene.
I will pass all of this along to the child. Thank you, smart friends.
Was there a part of Cats that wasn’t extra weird to you?
Ha, fair point
No, there really weren’t any non-weird parts, but a hairy Idris Elba-colored Idris Elba cat that wasn’t a normal cat color at all just…let’s just say it REALLY threw me off.
I think it was T Swift where it jumped the final shark for me.
So if I sprayed a basil plants leaves with some 90% isopropol diluted in water (maybe 1:5) to get rid of pests and save the plant. Is it ok to still eat the basil if the last spray was a few days ago, and I thoroughly wash the leaves before. I mean… I failed chemistry and can’t remember biology, but the plant will just process the alcohol and it’s not actually like… poisoning the leaves right?
I think the alcohol has evaporated by now.
