GHOSTBUSTERS!
Sorry.
GHOSTBUSTERS!
Sorry.
I’m not
I feel like my friends who are on top of these things have handypersons. I don’t and have no idea how to find a good person.
Yeahhhhh this seems mystical and overwhelming.
A good handyperson is word of mouth. Ask neighbors who have been there a while.
A good handyperson is like gold.
This is homemade right? Knitted? How long would something like this take to make? Ty!
(They gave it to Latte when we were in the ED, said it’s from a volunteer)
That is crochet!
Several hours at a minimum. Not as long to work as knitting but still something that took time and care.
What a sweet gift!!
A friend used to crochet things like that! I think it took a day not working, but she was pretty experienced
Sewing people: this is a jumpsuit that used to close on the back of the neck with a button and… whatever the button goes into is called. The string to hold the button broke and I’m not sure how to put it back on besides like superglue. It’s kind of a thick elastic string. Any ideas?
Ty! Answered my curiosity
It’s impressively stiff- that’s not quite the right word. But like, the weave is super tight and sturdy. My brothers puppy got ahold of it (thank you soooo much Latte for being very generous and handing it to him from the table ) and it’s none the worse for wear. I was seriously impressed. I tend to mentally associate “hand crafted” with “fragile”, but that is not true of this Pup stuffie.
That is a thread loop! You can probably sew it back in place by hand by just stabbing a needle and thread through the string and re securing it to the fabric?
Crocheted stuff uses a ton of yarn and tends to be a lot stiffer than knitted stuff as a result.
Do I want to go to sleep, or take a bath with my new overflow drain cover and see if I am actually submerged?
Bath.
It’s ten hours later, what did you choose?
A bath I read like half of a book and stayed up too late and I’m tired again, but the drain cover worked great and I actually got to be IN my bath instead of kind of on it, haha.
I couldn’t get my drain cover to stick to the bath so I ended up taping over the overflow drain. Same result. Aren’t deep baths amazing?
Should I donate something that I think is cursed?
I don’t even believe in curses. But pretty sure this sweatshirt is cursed, every time Latte wore it she got hurt. This last time landed her in the ED, and she’s never wearing it again. But I’m having a hard time getting rid of it. It’s in good condition (shockingly not blood all over lol), and pretty new- it was only worn 4 times and it’s cute. But it’s cursed. Do I donate because I’m being irrational and there’s no such thing as curses and I shouldn’t be wasteful? Or throw it away because WHAT IF.
I would burn it, but you all knew I would say that.
