I have my credit frozen with all 3 bureaus. I also read that this can be a precursor to ID theft by testing whether an address is valid… but as you say, that seems like a pretty easy thing to find out anyway.

It turns out that the rogaine was actually supposed to be my order of coconut milk from Amazon. Apparently Sam’s Club resells on Amazon? And I got shipped the wrong thing.
Well shit, I cannot make curry with Rogaine!

OK, now my anxiety brain can stop obsessing over “ok, what person who knows me sent me this because my hair looks like shit?” Even though I don’t have a thinning hair problem.

Wi-fi router recs?

I have a brand new Arris S33 surfboard modem but my router is super old and randomly dropping connectivity, which is really inconvenient for work. It doesn’t have to be Google Home/Alexa/whatever compatible because I don’t have those.

We went with a Netgear Nighthawk model a couple years ago. I believe it was recommended by Wirecutter. I do have to reset it somewhat frequently but I think that’s endemic to routers in general especially when we have a LOT of different devices connected at once

:frowning: I really need something that doesn’t need to be reset! Arg. Dropping the connection in the middle of work calls is bad. But I might end up with a Nighthawk. I wish routers weren’t so expensive.

Hmmm maybe I should try rogaine or nioxin though…

What the heck is discord and what is an OMD discord?? How is it different from google hangouts/GroupMe?

It’s basically a Google Hangout that is always on? I’m not sure, I’ve never Google Hungout.

it’s more like an IRC server if you remember those days. I don’t know GroupMe, and I’ve only used Google for 1-1 chats, not multiple people.

I don’t think Google hangouts exist anymore? My craft group does a weekly video chat using Google Meet, which is more like Zoom. There’s a text chat as part of the video chat but it’s not persistent.

Discord is more like IRC as plainjane said, or like Slack. Actually I think the only differences between Discord and Slack are cosmetic and that Slack doesn’t have voice or video chat options. (Discord is aimed at gamers and Slack is aimed at workplaces.)

My gloves have a fleecy lining and yesterday it got stuck on my band-aid and turned inside out. I tried to push it back in with my fingers but it’s kind of stuck. Any advice on getting the fleece back into the fingers? If I had a wooden skewer I’d try poking that in… maybe I could try a butter knife.

Knitting needle? And pinch the end before you pull it back out and hope it stays haha.

KNITTING NEEDLE. YES. You’d think I could have come up with that myself.

If I use a metal needle it should just slide on out with zero resistance.

When I typed that I was like 1- I hope I am remembering correctly that she knits and 2- I hope I’m not missing some reason you should not use them and that’s why she hasn’t :joy:

Yes. Which makes sense because slack was built on top of IRC too.

I bought a bottom round roast to cook in the crockpot tomorrow. Will this work well? I usually get chuck roasts, but they didn’t look as good.

Any Canadians here with an EQ bonus code?

Update on this if anyone is curious: the needle poked through the fleece sometimes and I should’ve used a bigger one instead of grabbing the first metal I found :joy: but between the knitting needle and an iced tea spoon handle, I got it fixed!
