Remind me again which country you are in so I can check streaming options for some good Brazilian movies.
I am in Australia
I love him, i will happily take movie suggestions with him in them, they just wont count towards my bingo
I am trying to get my travel fix through movies
I was going to suggest Rudo y Cursi (Mexico) and No (Chile). I haven’t watched Rudo y Cursi in over a decade, but it was my intro to him and Diego Luna as a dream team (fans self). No is newer (2012), so he was already famous and it might have more Hollywood influence, and it’s about an ad executive who is working on ousting Pinochet through advertising for the referendum. I remember very little about it except I watched it at the indie theater in my college town while my family was visiting and we all really liked it.
Both sound very good, will watch them
2 questions:
- I bought a bra on eBay and it smells horribly of scented detergent. I’ve washed it several times, air dried it for days, then let it sit in a baggie of baking soda. The scent remains. What’s my next step? Sunlight? Maybe I didn’t use enough baking soda?
- I have Bluetooth headphones. They generally work well. On Tuesday, I used them for a Google Meet chat. Tonight I’m trying to use them for Zoom. They seem to connect fine to my computer. However, as soon as I connected to Zoom, the earbuds disconnected. I tried to reconnect them several times before giving up. What the hell is going on? How can I use my earbuds with Zoom? (My computer is pretty old so that could be the problem… but google Meet is fine?)
What fabric? If it’s a foam interior you may just be SOL.
I had new pants that smelled really strong of the dye. I let them sit for literally like 5 days in the washer with probably a half gallon of vinegar added to the water. It did help.
What are you washing with? Powder or liquid? Can you do a borax and powder wash? Like stripping diapers? If that doesn’t work it’s useless
No foam, thankfully. I’ll try the vinegar soak and if that doesn’t work, I guess I’m buying some borax and powder detergent. Thanks!
Sunshine, as much as you can get.
Right, if the other stuff hasn’t worked by April I’ll try that
April?!?
We had 2 overcast days in a row last week and my entire team was off their mood.
laughs in PNW
How do y’all do it?
I had a girlfriend who went to California for school and she struggled so much with the lack of sunshine. Is it one of those things where you are just used to it so you don’t feel like you are missing anything?
Well, I was born and raised here, so I truly don’t know any differently. I will say, I moved to Seattle from Oregon (a fair ways S of Portland) at one point and even that degree of shorter days and a little more grey killed me. But really we should ask loony people like @noitsbecky who moved from a bonafide desert to the PNW grey.
In all seriousness though, I think getting outdoors all times of year is critical for me. I go stir crazy if I even have to spend one whole day inside, much less many in a row. And at least it’s green year round and something is always growing. That helps a lot. I mean. Plus I have had some significant episodes of depression, and was found to have critically low vitamin D in spite of supplementing (11! Lowest my doctor has seen haha). So, I dunno, maybe it doesn’t go that well
To be fair, it’s quite bright and sunny out right now. But we’re expecting a snowstorm tonight. And I’m not going out in 30 degree weather just to hang a bra in the sun.
She moved to the wrong part of California
But I’m with you…I couldn’t do it either. I’ve had the option to move to the Portland area twice at an old job and each time I chose Phoenix instead (Portlanders can probably guess what company lol). I lived in Northern California for a few years and was not happy. Even this week when we had two days of much needed rain, I’ve been grumpy lol.
It rained 3 days in a row this week, and by the end of the 2nd day I was SO grumpy and down. I was like…what is going on? Oh, it’s sunny 360 days a year, and god forbid for the past 2 days it hasn’t been and I can’t handle it haha.
You get it.
