I get a lot of connection requests from people in other countries, and recruiters/vendors. Clearly they have not read my profile which shows I am Retired.

I just read an article about the postal service which mentions that postmaster general DeJoy will be making changes this year. My question is: won’t President Biden appoint a new one? Or doesn’t it work that way?

IIRC the postmaster general can’t be removed by the president, only the board. The current board is Trump-aligned so not likely to remove DeJoy.

I think the president nominates for the board of governors which then need to be confirmed by the senate. It is required to be bipartisan but I know at least one of the current democrats is a McConnell buddy. I believe there are three spots open? The Board of Governors was one of many spots where Trump left Obama’s nominees hanging and put the people he wanted in instead. I vaguely recall Bernie Sanders being involved in the discussions that left a seat empty at the time.

My brother was just talking about all this (he works for USPS) but I should probably fact check what I’m babbling from poor memory
