LL Bean’s politics are medium to good. They had some press about having bad politics but it turned out the lady was just a descendant with some shares who was maybe on the board but didn’t really have any power and they put some effort into refuting her.
I hope Eddie Bauer’s politics are good because their 3/4 sleeve women’s bottom downs are incredible.

Those are the two recipes I was already looking at since I have confidence in those sites for good recipes with measurements I was really hoping to find one with a weight measurement for the eggs, since I think that’s why my scones went wonky–I used the number of eggs called for in the recipe, but the eggs I have are gigantic, so the dough was really wet. The Serious Eats recipe has weights for the eggs but the comments have me wary (and I don’t think I have that many eggs anyway). The Smitten Kitchen one has better comments so… hopefully having extra egg in the dough won’t be a problem! Or maybe I should just use one egg in the dough?

All eggs vary in weight, but a USDA large egg is 1/5 of a cup. That’s the conversion I’ve used when using larger chicken eggs or duck eggs in recipes where the egg ratio is critical.
Baking recipes basically always use a large egg. USDA defines that as approximately 57-63g including the shell. You could buy a dozen at store and crack a few to get an idea of what that means minus the shell?

And I know old cookbooks have egg conversions and standard weights. From the 60s onwards I think large is standard in recipes, but I prefer a medium. Or XL. No idea why.
Many many cats pass through my yard, nearly all going from west to east. How many of them have to do this to alter the speed of the earth’s rotation?
I saw this when I was out for a dog walk in a fairly affluent area of town and it actually looked really cute to me, I think maybe normally I would’ve thought it was a bit crunchy, but I think this is pretty tastefully done.
My question is: would this be as cute if someone did this with tin cans? not like soda cans, but like bean cans, etc. plz advise.
In the right setting I think it could work. Would you have to worry an out any metals leeching into the soil?
