OK last question y’all. I think I promise… Will they simply look like this with no flowers if I bring them into a shady-ish area? I don’t care if they ever bloom flowers, I just like these leaves. I’m not much of a flower person.

Probably?

I have an iris against my front foundation in full shade that grows plenty of leaves every year and maybe one flower that falls over right away (I keep forgetting to move it to a different spot).

I bought strawberries today for jam. If I get them cleaned can I freeze them until the weekend and make the jam then?

Yes. You could even freeze them with the sugar for the jam. One of my jam recipes has a macerating step before cooking.

I have a gender identity question! I’m suddenly seeing quite a few people in my outer circle post their pronouns on social media, which I get is a thing, but I’m a little confused because many of them are posting both a neutral and a non-neutral option. Some of these people may become future clients of mine so I don’t want to offend them. Which should I use? For example, the posts are like this:

Jessica Thunderblast (it’s a fake name so I had fun with it)
She/They

^ Like, so she and her is ok for me to say, right? Is Jessica just saying that she won’t be offended if I use a neutral instead? Or is she saying that in some instances she wants to be referred to as “she” but in others as “they”? This seems to be becoming a lot more common so I figured I’d ask here.

When someone posts their pronouns in either their email signature or on social media, all options listed are acceptable.

She/Her/Hers and They/Them/Theirs would all be acceptable in this case.

Excellent, thank you! That’s what I thought but I don’t like to assume anything these days as my membership in the club goes back to when we only had four letters, lol. It’s hard to keep up!

You’re welcome! It is tough because it’s not an explicitly defined thing. It’s possible as you get to know someone better, you’ll find they lean more towards one or the other depending on context. But if they’re making their pronouns public, like on social media, then you’re good to use whatever they list.

Oh yeah, if it were a friend I’d just ask! Most of my friends are some flavor of queer (I’m bi and have been out since 14) so I’m well versed in all that jazz, but it feels risky to ask something like this directly (or worse, use the wrong word) when it’s a business relationship, especially in writing.

I need to ask the collective wisdom on how y’all might solve this problem.

The sellers of the place we are (hopefully!) buying installed a beautiful, brand new fridge. The kind with 2 doors on top and the big drawer freezer. The problem is that it isn’t counter depth, and even if it was, on the right side you can only open the door to 90* and it smacks into the (also brand new) granite countertop. I’m so annoyed that they didn’t just get a single door on top model that had a handle on the right side to completely avoid the issue.

I don’t think getting a different fridge is an option, so I’m thinking I get some of those stick on rubber bubble things to protect the door and the countertop? Am I missing a better solution? Photo below for reference - the dented fridge got replaced with a non dented one - we were hoping they swapped with a different opening one

If there is a mom and pop appliance place around you could ask about trading in your brand new fridge for something that works for you.

Yes to stick on bumpers.

Ooh this is a good idea!! Even just browsing around Lowe’s website I can see that for what they likely spent on this one they could have gotten a similarly snazzy one with one door that would have opened just fine. I bet some of H’s coworkers who live out there might have a recommendation for a smaller appliance place.

Does anyone have Sciatica? If so, what do you do to help it? I have had it on and off for a long time, but this latest bout just won’t go away and otc meds don’t seem to help.

Ice for swelling/inflammation, wear lighter-weight shoes (flat, of course), walking and gentle stretches, pillow under my knees at night. Oh, and avoid "comfort height"toilets if you’re feet don’t firmly sit on the floor, heels and toes both. Or use a footstool.

I don’t but two friends who do are very vocal about their need to keep up with their PT/exercises or they have problems again.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with that - no fun :frowning:

I do…do you know the cause of yours?

I was told 10? years ago by a chiropractor that I have a degenerative disc, so I assume that’s the reason? Even before that though, I got a cortisone shot once that helped, but hurt like hell to get. That had to be at least 15 years ago. I’ve probably had back issues for 25 years now. At this point, it’s been two months and the only thing that doesn’t hurt is laying down, so I’m getting annoyed. Two months ago it hurt occasionally, now it’s almost all the time unless laying, so I guess it’s getting worse. my boss said maybe I should go back to a chiropractor. Is that a good idea?

It sounds like a medical professional you trust is a great idea! Maybe look into the McKenzie method? Or someone who promotes lots of things movement!

I’ve never heard of the McKenzie method, will look it up, thanks.
