Walgreens/cvs also have it. You can get via Instacart in a pinch.

Not a pinch, fortunately, but I don’t venture out for in person shopping nearly as much anymore so I can’t comparison shop. Not urgent, baby needs it for surgery in 1.5 week and nurse said its OK to introduce small amounts early so we aren’t trying to get a new liquid in at 4am :face_with_spiral_eyes:

I usually get it at CVS because it’s the closest fastest option when we need it but yes grocery store or target are also good.

I like to get the powdered tubes because they can be stored for a long time.

I needed unflavored for infants so not an option, but good idea for the future to have on hand!

foot powder in the shoes? maybe?

In shoe powder. Socks and change often. Sunshine. Multiple pairs and rotate. Over vent after water or big sweat.

Consistent use of shoe trees or activated charcoal seem to help with stink prevention. I’m not sure if they work if the shoes are already pretty far gone stink wise?

Also merino socks.

These are B1’s new pair I’m trying to save while they are new! So merino socks are a no go :joy: but trying some of the other tips. Where do you buy the activated charcoal? Also why does it seem like kid shoe care is about to be more complicated than my houseplants?

I bought from the evil online place years ago, so I don’t have a good current recommendation. I’m sorry!

You can buy activated charcoal pretty cheaply for aquarium use, but you’d want little cloth bags for it.

That sounds ideal for a small shoe! Thank you. And also for my onion cupboard. As a lazy person mismatched socks are small bags

—the deodorizing stuff I’d seen previously was big chunks in a closet size bag.

I tie up old nylon tights to make small bags. I’ve been making them for the diaper pail but I should start doing that for stinky shoes too. (It’s been fully 15 years since I’ve last worn tights - not sure why I even had them but they came in handy!!)

Oh good I’m not losing my marbles. I was like “this can’t be the same stuff I bought a jar of at Walmart from the pet aisle when I needed it for…science reasons, can it?” Yes it is, lol!

I feel like we deodorized something with it at some point? Definitely not kids’ shoes. Maybe the trunk of the car in our death trap car days?
