Ideas I found last year. I tried and failed to do the Christmas tree one, but there may have been ways to improve my method.

Is it really possible that a second antibiotic has not cleared this 6 month old’s double ear infection

Noooo hate this for you

Possible, baby ears are wack. Probably worth taking her into a same day appointment or pediatric urgent care if she’s still in pain. And remember that even a year from now this will be less intense

Many ear infections are actually viral, so…

Urgent care said her ears are Perfect so who tf knows why she was so miserable last night. Bad tummy from all the antibiotics, teething (I see no sign of this and it’d be early compared to her brother who got them after 1yr only), some weird discomfort from a growth spurt? It seemed too severe for the last thing but what do I know

My daughter didn’t pop her first tooth until she was a year. Son popped his first at four months. You just never know! (And now at only 15, I’ve been given a referral from the dentist to an oral surgeon because he’s already in need of having his wisdom teeth out. I had mine out when I was pregnant with him, at 37 years old!)

We need some type of light to use or other indicator for the kids to know when it’s okay to get us up on the weekends. DS woke up at 5:00 a.m. today and wanted everybody up with him. I’m looking at the hatch lights but they seem stupid expensive. Does anybody have any good alternatives?

My sister gifted us some cheapo from Amazon. It’s not smart so you set it manually and can’t change it from an app or anything, but it works fine. It does have sound but it had a mute button, so we just use the light portion. It’s not this one exactly, but looks very similar.

Sunrise alarm clock as a generic search term. I have one I found at consignment that works well for me and Larva at the same time, so I don’t know how much it was originally, but they seem to have a range of prices depending on fanciness of features.

We really like the hatch because I can set it or change it from my phone. So if we’re up several times in the middle of the night and need extra sleep I can change it to come on later. We also have ours set to have a super dim light (1-2%) at the earliest Pipsqueak is allowed to wake up, but have it come on brighter when it’s really time to get up from school. Lately Pipsqueak has asked music to come on with the light and there are several options. There is a subscription that gives more features but we use it without them.

We have a cheap travel one that I hate because it’s sooooooo bright that it instantly wakes everyone up when it comes on. And you can’t change the settings without manually pressing loud buttons.

We also used to use a sunrise light which I loved for bedtime because it would slowly get darker, but Im glad we finally gave in and got the hatch.

I had a momcozy light that was basically the same thing at like half the price.

If you already have a Yoto player (only mentioning because lots of people here seem to have them) you can set what time it’s “daytime,” and then the clock will have a sun or moon depending on whether it’s day or night.

I wouldn’t buy one just for that feature though.

We have one called My Tot Clock. It’s all manual settings and has optional music things that we never used. The wiggler loved it.

This is what I was looking for! Basically the hatch without the $70-90 price tag. If it seems glitchy or annoying, we’ll upgrade to the real deal like @Sunflower. All those phone features sound nice. I’ll have to see if mom cozy has that.

Yeah you do it all from your phone, if I remember correctly they have like a weird third party app you go through and other than stuff the hatch requires an extra subscription for they basically have the same features just accessed differently. I believe I sent mine to @BiblioFeroz

I have a Little Hippo clock that was like $50.

Confession: my child broke @Greyweld’s momcozy light and also 3 whole baby monitors. She does seem less destructive now that she’s three but I was hoping to find something more robust!

What would cause a baby that has slept independently in a bassinet/pack n play through the night without eating til like 4AM since 2 months of age to suddenly be unable to be consoled at bedtime, not want to be put down, except in my bed right up against me, eating every 2ish hours all night long (but then nap just fine alone!)?? She’s almost 7 months old now

Like this seems more severe than a regression, has lasted a few nights in a row already with no sign of improvement. She’s perfectly happy during the day. Ear infections are gone, so it’s not that. My first hunch is maybe the double course of antibiotics messed with her tummy but then wouldn’t she be uncomfy in daytime too? No sign of teeth, which again, wouldn’t that also bother her in the daytime as well? I’m perplexed and also slowly becoming more sleep deprived than I ever was when she was an infant.
