This is the tincture:
I’d ask a lot more questions about that one, but it’s a common food so probably safe. I’m just not sure about why it’s being prescribed. And tinctures are just an extract. It being a tincture wouldn’t raise red flags for me.
Hope that helps!
ETA there are indications that make sense, esp in labour or immediately post partum. but it isn’t clear what they are choosing it for for you.
Omg I would be too tired for homework
Also starting at 36 weeks feels kinda aggro?
I def do not have the executive function to remember to drink raspberry leaf tea several times per day.
I’m usually an A+ student but I’m going for like a D here.
Are these, like, bring-on-labor type things, or just to keep you healthy and ready for labor? Just curious
I used to just drink RRLT instead of water, like brew a big batch, dilute into my regular drinking water and serve cold. I don’t like the taste.
I used to buy a proprietary blend through the mail from my sister’s home birth lay midwives, which in retrospect seems like a weird thing to do but I guess we all do weird things.
Mostly things that can theoretically speed it up once it starts happening and make things go smoother but not like, induce it.
Prepare, but not induce.
If anyone is curious like I was, raspberry leaf tea is indeed counterindicted if you have precipitous labours! Which may just be a bit of a “better safe than too fast if it does work” thing but I found that interesting.
That kind of makes sense! With my first being a 40 hour induction I assume I wouldn’t be prone to them but I have no idea what a spontaneous labor would be like for me.
blows dust off the thread
Hellooo! echo -o! O! O!
Anyone have sage advice on body pillows? I think I want something that goes in front of my body but is longer and narrower than a standard pillow so no one gets pushed off the bed. Any experiences with how this need evolves later on?
I normally sleep in a semi-fetal side/stomach position but I end up kind of twisted and want to start to avoid that.
Will I regret the cute option?
I got one of those long narrow round lumbar-ish pillows, similar to your cute option but not curved. It was not perfect but it was really helpful for throwing my leg over. Definitely better than nothing or a standard pillow, though, and I bet the curve in your cute option would be really nice.
Also got a little wedge that was helpful to lean back on at times.
IME get what looks comfy and try it out. I eagerly used the standard pillow in my first pregnancy but then it didn’t work for me during the second. No idea why
No pregnancy/body pillows have ever worked for me ![]()
I got a boppy body pillow and it’s a bit flat for my tastes. But I still use it because it’s better than nothing. Yours looks cute and comfy.
I’m normally a side sleeper anyway but found that I really needed some sort of pillow between my knees while I was pregnant to help relieve pressure.
Later I had bad heartburn and needed to elevate my head. I never bought a wedge pillow though, just rolled up some beach towels and tucked them under my regular pillow.
I regret to report that I could not optimize my pillow situation at all. YMMV but my body wanted 3 different kinds of pillow configurations and then for my 2nd pregnancy could only sleep in a recliner.
The one you linked seems good for what you’re describing! If you’re going to be on a highly experimental cycle with pillow shapes, Buy Nothing is great.
Damn a recliner would’ve been tight
I had a huge U shape the first pregnancy and I love(d) it and wish I still have it. I took it to camp in a packed tiny hatchback (5humans and luggage). Second pregnancy I needed a wedge to breathe. Apparently both made someone feel overcrowded in my bed but someone wasn’t 2 people and TBH in the middle of the night I loved my pillows more.
I couldn’t co sleep with either pillow but the wedge is still useful if someone is sick and was good for awake breastfeeding.
I miss the U. I am not pregnant and achy and miss it.
Oh yeah I always see those on my Buy Nothing.
Pillows also didn’t work for me but I was really comfortable sleeping on the couch where I could lean against the back cushions and use a regular pillow between my knees.
If you can find something on buy nothing, kid 2 kid, etc you can experiment a bit.
