Pregnancy is weird

I probably could but she kept mine a secret until I was ready so?

But did she need emotional support with the news of yours? Also are you really sure she didn’t share? My husband is very good at acting like he doesn’t know information when I tell him things are not public info.

If she didn’t explicitly ask you not to tell your husband I would personally assume it’s fine. As a rule of thumb I assume that anything I tell my married friends is known by their spouses unless i explicitly ask them not to say anything. To me it is a major ask for me to keep something from Mr. Ninja or for me to ask a friend to keep a secret from their spouse. But I don’t know your relationship with this friend or if this is normal for you! Just wanted to share my perspective.

OH! Heads up for anyone who hasn’t been through a pregnancy in the summer before. Babies are little cholesterol stealing goblins and most people burn WAY more easily while pregnant than not. Take whatever sun exposure burns you and halve it. Take whatever UV index you take measures at and subtract 2 or 3.

My pink arms on a mild April day are here to be your warning :joy:

Heck yes omg I was out for maybe 20 minutes today and felt like any longer and I would have started my transformation into a lobster.

Speaking of pregnancy summer struggles, these things are life changing:

I feel like things are just now really starting to sink in… like omg we’re going to have a kid in 3 months?? Like what?

After waiting and trying and loss it just feels unbelievable that I’m actually preparing for a kid and don’t just have a weird hobby of inexplicably collecting baby stuff.

Huh, TIL! I guess I never ran into this with Spore because even with the reduced tolerance my skin color is pretty un-burnable. (I do wear sunscreen though, scared into it after my grandmother had skin cancer.)

It got into the 80s a few weeks ago though and I suddenly realized I had no hot weather pregnancy bottoms since I’m bigger than last time and never had to dress for month 9. My friends shared clothes but only business casual stuff which I don’t quite have the patience for. It seemed silly to get them for just one month more of pregnancy so I hunted around a bit for things that would work for nursing too and a million packages from Kindred Bravely, Storq, and Poshmark showed up all at once. Of course, now it’s back in the 40s Fahrenheit. I’ll be glad when the clothing merry-go-round is over!

I must plug the thrift store for big elastic waisted shorts. Of course getting there with a baby already would be tougher than my situation as FTM

Ours haven’t changed seasons yet, but that’s a good reminder to check 'em out again later this summer when I’m on leave!

Body/boob changes

I’m wearing a 40D bra right now. Questioning my identity as a small boobed person.

I feel like I have mostly gained side boob.

It goes away again. I went from AA to D to AA again.

One of my two boobs stayed significantly larger than the other

Anatomy scan at last! Happy to report all looks well and she’s measuring right on 48.8%! She did well for all the anatomy photos then covered her face and turtled away for the vanity photos lol so we didn’t get any 3D face stuff. ah well. If she was too cooperative I’d worry they switched embryos on us!

We really need to pick a name :joy:

I didn’t find the glucose screening too bad. No idea when I’ll get those results. Also got my TDAP. Had a good convo with my doc about having a doula, monitoring baby size (since husband was 10 lbs and FIL was 11), induction, epidural, post-birth bc, etc. I really like my OB.

I understand this worry. Ry was 13.5 lbs! Then B was born a full 3 weeks early and was still 7# 6oz. They were monitoring as much as possible with L!
