In honor of COWBOY CARTER, the NYT’s amplifier newsletter put together a playlist of other Black women in country music. Some yess of courses like Rhiannon Giddins and Valerie June, some were they made country songs? like the Pointer Sisters and Tina Turner, but most were new to me and very good.

In an extreme departure from country music, I made @Meowkins a playlist. It’s got a little bit of everything, and general vibe is our Hero Meowkins’ journey thru heartbreak to come out the other side healed and whole and even more badass than ever. Perhaps other folks will like it as well.
