I had to get some Grosby branded UGGs when we moved into the hills. Super comfy and not hot and sweaty as they’re sheep skin and not synthetic.

Desire: Set of Wooden Salt and Pepper grinders.

I just posted in my journal about budgets/saving money something something…haha. But. I really really want a comfortable piece of outdoor furniture for my patio. The weather is about to get so nice here and since I can’t do a lot of physical activity right now, I feel like it’s unfair that I also am basically not going outside at all. I feel like my brain is melting from spending all day indoors. I have a little patio table+chairs but unfortunately the chairs are so uncomfortable I can’t sit for more than 10-15 min without hating life. I want some sort of convertible love-seat couch situation that I can lay on, or recline in and enjoy the sunset in the evening.

I’m thinking something similar to this?

I have no idea what specific thing to get, but comfortable outdoor seating seems completely reasonable to me, since back support and outdoors time are both important for health!

And I mean, if you’re anything like me it could eventually be a cost-saving method…pre-Covid I’ve gone to particular coffee shops to read or hangout outside because I knew their seating was comfortable, so this way you don’t have to pay each time, haha

I have a couple of this type of chair and find them comfy. They can be a bit awkward to get in and out of, but I eventually figured it out. Lol

Cushions are great for flopping but you really have to stay on top of taking them on/off if you live in a climate where it rains or there’s bird poop or pollen. I originally had an outdoor sectional with cushions but we ended up letting the cushions get ratty which was a lot less inviting.

Where we landed: a hammock of quick-dry fabric, an Ikea lounger with a 1-piece cushion that gets stored in the kitchen (nearest room to backyard), and everything else without cushions.

I wish these were comfortable for me! They are so much less expensive than full couches…unfortunately my specific brand of back problems means this position is one of the worst. I basically just have to lounge fully laid out on a couch, or sit completely upright in a cushioned chair.

this is my biggest concern. It doesn’t rain particularly often here but there are lots of bugs/spiders +HOT sun and I’m sure cushions will get destroyed. I think I will just have to take them off+on every time I go outside if I want them to stay nice.

Dunno if this is compatible with your back support needs, but this is the lounger I have in a different color. It has 5 settings from almost upright to fully flat. Expensive for Ikea but has been durable for 5+ years and still looks new. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/aepplaroe-chaise-brown-stained-brown-90208543/

How is your local Buy Nothing? Once a month or so someone posts nice outdoor furniture in my local group.

I endorse this. Having great outdoor seating options is definitely worth spending on.

I also need new salt and pepper grinders- our current ones are garbage. GARBAGE! I was refilling them and it brought me no joy. Like if you’re going to get used most nights and put on my table - why not be good at your job?

Dammit. If it was approved I would have no argument from the spouse. That’s how this works, right?
