My god, it would stare at you every morning!
My friend’s fiancee does some legit kinetic art. I’m trying to talk him into selling the finished pieces instead of just the plans to make your own. I can’t seem to get through to him that people would pay fucktons for this.
That reminds me of the Wyland Gallery (store) in St. Armands Circle, Sarasota Florida (a very Fancy Pants shopping area not far from a Ritz Carlton). I always wander in to rubberneck when we’re visiting but even the “cheap” stuff there is way out of my price range. I’m sure the people who spend gobs of money there, enough for the shop to still be able to rent that space for years and years, would drool over that kinetic turtle before handing over gobs of money for it.
What an elaborate piece of art, I love it!
Oh shit, JS would loose his Baja loving mind over this.
My bedroom window is on the side of a walkway that faces the center of my apartment complex. I’m pretty tired of the room being so dark all the time from having the blinds closed, so I really really want some privacy film.
I could go for a frosted glass look, OR I could go for some pretty colors:
The third option is spray-on window frosting. I’ve never been able to get the cling film on without lots of bubbles, but the spray stuff goes on like spray paint.
I haven’t done the artscape glass, but I’ve had a textured glass film (from Lowes rather than Target, but I expect it’s about the same stuff) up in my bathroom for 10ish years now with no problems. It does a great job of blocking the view of the interior while letting in a lot of light, and thus far no peeling or bubbling even between showers and (very) dry winters.
How easy is it to remove? Theoretically the vinyl shouldn’t be difficult, but I’ve never done either before so
Ooh a bathroom is a good test area for this place. We range between very dry and too much moisture here in the PNW. I also need to address a small window mold issue, but the lack of cleaning supplies in the area has us at a standoff right now.
I also have the film type on my bathroom window and it was easy to apply and has been there with no issues for around 2 years.
I will find out later. It says on the can but the can is over there.
Oh yes, I am familiar with that obstacle. I’m in no hurry, purchase decision is not immediate.
That is super fucking cool.
If you want mildly interesting, the white tissue paper with glitter adheres to a damp window and st as yes for years, but comes off like a dream. But the arty thing is better
Ohh. I may try this on a glass door that gets way too much sun in high summer. Don’t have and glitter tissue paper but lots of pretty colors.
Corona virus restrictions are being scaled back in my state due to very low case numbers. Now under 100 active cases
Specifically the Premier has announced from midnight Friday we can travel up to 50km from home and have a picnic with the people we live with.
Surely this is justification to spend $200 on a picnic rug?
Hmmm I love them. But $199 is a hard sell for me.
Yeh, the price is why I’ll probably never buy one. I could ask my mum for one for my birthday and she would buy it for me, but then I’d have to ask for an expensive thing…
Unrelated but did you see included in what we can do from the 2nd of May is “Shopping for non-essential items like clothes and shoes will also be permitted”. It seems like such a QLD thing for clothing and shoes to be considered non-essential
