Why am I stressed looking at this? 
My SIL stores the cracked egg shells in the carton with the unused eggs. A 5th type for sure.
my husband does this, and it drives me batty
I am 4 because balance. The carton will fall over otherwise
4 appeals, but probably a more random 3 happwns.
To me all of 2-4 balance the carton.
If I have 2 happen, when I open the carton it falls backwards!
1 - because I hold the carton at the center of the weight no matter where the eggs are!

1, or that’s as close as it gets since I usually buy 18 count…the carton lives in the fridge and I reach in and grab X at a time from the front, I don’t typically take the carton out until it’s empty. 2 would definitely make it fall over, 3 and 4 would just feel weird.
