Nah just lazy sci fi script writing. Invent an omnipotent godlike alien who wants to understand humans as a way of using history and human sets in story lines. Way cheaper and easier than continually developing alien worlds. Like how Star Trek times travels to 1986 in one of the movies. How convenient and cheap for a movie made in 1986.

Hard agree. I HATE Q. My husband and I always groan whenever a Q episode comes on. My FIL loves him. In our world, Star Trek not so peaceful.
