I only had cervical checks in labor and I have no recollection of feeling it at all but I was in VERY active labor at the time and I kind of think the only reason the midwife bothered was because I was in denial about how fast things were moving.
I’ve had several covid tests, some that were brain pokes and some just inside the nose. The brain pokes are a bit more uncomfortable but neither is awful in my opinion. But I told my husband that and then I think it exceeded his expectations for discomfort.
My cervical checks weren’t painful but I’ve had cameras in my nose and down my throat and found it very unpleasant. I guess my worst medical procedure was all 4 wisdom tooth removal in boot camp. The fellow straddled the chair I was in, standing over me, and had both hands in my mouth yanking. Shudder.
My cervical check early on (like 2ish cm) hurt lots, but then they didn’t look again until 7 by which point it doesn’t hurt for me. If I get a next time I will not be in the hospital that early
My first covid test in the spring went very deep and hurt a lot and I bled. My recent one was fine. I think that they were figuring out how deep to dive and going with a more is better approach in the spring so that’s fine
There’s at least one outlet I’ve seen that includes “weirdest items hospitals had to retrieve from someone’s butt and/or vagina” each year in their end-of-year articles.
I don’t know where the data is from, but if true- oooooof. The times we’ve ordered delivery/take out, we’ve tried to tip REALLY WELL. Those people are putting their lives on the line, basically so that I can eat ramen, you know?! Jesus people. Cmon.
