Well I know what Iā€™ll be making this afternoon.

I might make this my Christmas gift to my coworkers this year. I usually make nommy things, but this is just our brand of cynical.

Caveat slash education slash whatever

I know lots of people who have had contraception fail through NO fault of their own. IUD failures, no education about the risk of antibiotics and hormonal BC, etc. So to be clear while this is funny itā€™s really NOT accurate to assume if someone has had a BC failure that it was a direct action failure.

literally 2 weeks into the pandemic, me to a friend: wow, iā€™m realizing now that likeā€¦ literally no one is wearing condoms

Yeah, I really feel like the sign would be just as funny and more accurate if it specified condoms haha.

And yeahhhhh really makes you realize why STI rates are the way they are on college campuses and in nursing homes :grimacing:

Donā€™t worry, we have leading science and governmental information re this year

ETA that belgium does expect santa to social distance and mask. I assume that he is double masking with N95 and will change the surgical mask properly between houses

HSG says ā€œhold my beerā€ (although actually my hysteroscopy was worse, but still)

I almost had a hysteroscopy last month but went straight to the next step, almost entirely because it did not sound as fun on the patient side as it would have been on the scope side, even though they said I could have a screen to watch.

Well ok mostly because I didnt want to pay for two procedures. But it didnā€™t sound pleasant.

Lmao reminds me of when my dad was horrified that I didnā€™t know how dilated I was during every step of labor when I was talking to him and my mom about it because ā€œyou can just have them checkā€. And then he told me how it doesnā€™t actually hurt. I asked him when the last time was that he had his cervix checked :expressionless:

The look on my momā€™s face was priceless during this exchange. They clearly remember her 3 labors very differently.

Oh nooooooo.

I tell all my shopping-for-OB friends to pick one with small hands, for this reason. I did not know beforehand how bad the checks would be.

Havenā€™t done either of the tests you mentioned but Iā€™d do a million covid tests before another CVS. (Iā€™ve had a couple amnios too, those arenā€™t that bad.)

Iā€™ve had cameras go at least a foot deep into most of my holes. The nasal swab doesnā€™t bother me at all.

Oooh thatā€™s not something I wouldā€™ve thought of! My midwives did mine during labour, but I also donā€™t remember them hurting /in comparison to other pain at the time/. But the one cervical check I had in early pregnancy was baaaaaaad.

At least this has made me feel like a COVID test could be NBD.

My experience (only three COVID tests, I know others have had more) is that itā€™s uncomfortable but fine if you donā€™t have a severe sinus infection. Severe sinus infection + prodding = paaaain.
