I am also a sock weirdo. I am very uncomfortable if I don’t get to sleep with socks. But mine have to be tall socks, even in the summer

Interesting, iiiiiinteresting. I love learning weird personal stuff like this about people, lol. Mine have to be low-crew, so right about the start or middle of my ankle. No low socks, no tall socks. I’m way too aware of my socks at all times.

My parents tried to make me stop wearing socks to sleep, saying I would get foot fungus. Despite having sweaty feet, I have not gotten foot fungus! I think socks make me feel cozy and protected. My theory is that because my parents put me in footie pajamas as a baby/toddler, I got used to the feel!

I hate wearing socks

I was recently reminded of a time someone was describing a scene to me that happened at “eleven thirty in the afternoon”. I and the other person listening were baffled as to what time it was supposed to be. Was the sun up or not?
Do you think the sun was up? Does eleven thirty in the afternoon make sense to you?
Summary
The person did mean 11:30am and is the type of person to have lunch at 11am so 11:30am is after lunch to them, therefore it is afternoon in their mind.
I told them they are wrong and to not describe something like that ever again. (It was in a D&D game so definitely low stakes.)

11:30 feels like afternoon even if it isn’t.
This is a problem of our clock based time system. Did you know that until clocks became more common in the 18th century, there were 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night time - an hour was a division not a set unit.

Yes, noon would be directly overhead - but depending on the season that could be 11 am in now time….
But also “noon” was originally the ninth hour of the day, so a lot later than it is now.
