How do you planner?

Wow you’re winning!!!

Yes, however a closer look shows it isn’t even made in North America. It’s designed in Europe and printed in China. Definitely not what I would have chosen had I known.

I don’t like the paper in it. It feels a bit like sandpaper to me. It’s recycled paper. I’m thinking of family or friends who might like a gift for Christmas or birthday.

FWIW I have found very few planners that don’t print in China (I print my books in China too and almost all publishers print there) - that’s just where most of the infrastructure and economies of scale are for print at this point. Even pretty iconic Japanese and German brands all produce there. I know one made in Taiwan. And then one US anarcho brand that prints in East Bay

Hi! Thanks for the info. I think I found one. Polestar Calendars I’m checking it out further today.

ETA: on further inspection it doesn’t go into enough detail for me.

I just checked my planner and it says made in Quebec, so I’m pretty sure we can find Canada made ones.

What is your planner? We might want to shift this subtopic over to the Canadian thread?

I want to know what brand it is!

Just a note, I found a Canadian one to download for free to try. It’s Hemlock & Oak.. I just printed their goals preamble and one month of the undated planner to try. If it works well, I think I’ll purchase the daily or minimalist one. And combine three journals into one. The minimalist one doesn’t have the goals preamble. Which I don’t really need. But someone a bit busier might find it helpful for setting direction and keeping focused.

It’s this brand: https://papieretlatte.com/ (website in french only)

Their planners are expensive tho, 56$ CAD without taxes and shipping. But I love my planners and I have to refrain myself from buying other stuff like stickers and pens :joy:

You only need one! (Right? Right?!)

hello planner friends! I’m wondering if anyone can help me with a conundrum, which is that my roommate’s planner seems to have been discontinued for 2025 and he is looking for a similar one. It was the Ardium Yearly Planner, which Ardium seems to not be making for 2025. Here are the features, in case you know of a similar:

  • a5 size (or a little smaller like b6 but not super small)
  • hobonichi weeks layout (so horizontal list of days on the left and blank grid on the right)
  • NOT tomoe river paper (regular weighted paper)
  • Months go directly into the weeks (instead of months being all at the front)
  • “blank” months (so no grid pattern)
  • bound ‘journal’ type book
  • (not a dealbreaker but he would like it) keep-together elastic band

Wondering if there is a planner built around the 4 seasons? That’s kind of how I think about my life & set goals, I’m realizing.

Not sure about months going directly into weeks but the rest of it sounds like the Moleskine weekly planner

I am surprised at the number of people using paper planners. You youngsters! Is this a retro-cool thing like vinyl records?

I just use the digital calendar on my Apple devices.
i do not make extensive notes, just a few words to represent deadlines and obligations and events.
I am retired so my life is simple, but when I was still working I used Outlook’s calendar in the same way.

Ohhhh yes. Yes yes yes. But SEASONS and not freaking financial quarters. >.>

I keep getting tempted to get a discbound notebook for some very specific topical stuff but then I never select a system. Gyarrrr.

It’s an artistic hobby and not just an organizing calendar thing
