@Ferngully any chance you have photos of your bathrooms with the various tile manufacturers? I could find pics of Aaron’s on the other journal but no bathroom photo in your photo dump (I keep telling spouse that I wish we could have come by to see your condo this summer, such a bummer it didn’t work out).
We do have a wall-hung toilet in the powder room.
Our wall-hung toilet sticks out 23” from the wall. Our elongated regular toilet sticks out 28”. It’s a noticeable difference. To actually get the space savings through, you’ll need to make sure the studs are spaced correctly for the tank apparatus in the wall and that those bays aren’t needed for anything else. The wall-hung wouldn’t have saved any space for our main bath because we had other stuff in the cavity behind, so we skipped it there.
I’m prepared for any major repair being very annoying and very expensive since the whole wall will have to be opened up!
Random note: My one small regret about these bathrooms is not talking to your designer/GC about vent selection location early on, before utility plans are done. I found the least obtrusive ones possible but if we’d talked about it earlier I could have used a combo vent & light.
Photos below! I didn’t really get the hang of photographing small spaces but hopefully you can at least see the tile & toilet spacing from them.
Everything is gorgeous!
What brand wall mounted toilet did you get? I was talking to someone today who said they don’t flush well and need to be cleaned with a brush often. Have you had issues?
In other news, I picked up a bunch of samples of Crossville tile today. It’s made in the US and seems pretty sustainable. I’m waiting on some other samples of some of the brands mentioned above as well.
