I am lucky enough to have a printer. I’ve been printing out dozens of coloring pages of Pusheen (and occasionally other characters) and saving them in a folder so I can print more of the same later. They don’t last long but it’s an easy way to inject novelty/keep her entertained. 40 Pusheen Coloring Pages (Free Printable PDFs)
I want to give a shout out to past me who planned in an extra +15 minutes into the morning routine. My natural inclination is “on time is on time” and not “ten minutes early is on time”. Normally it gets Kiddo to school early and he has time to putter around before the day actually starts. Today he was dragging his feet about eating breakfast so we gave him another food option and more time, then he dragged his feet more about actually getting ready. In the end I dropped him off with less than two minutes to spare before school started. Whew!
Also TIL traffic is noticeably worse fifteen minutes later.
My kid always ends up at school 10 minutes early because of this. Our options are basically, take her 10 minutes early and be 10 minutes early. Or leave five minutes later and have it take 15 more minutes. It’s really bizarre how much that can make a difference.
And the kids really have no idea while you’re “Get in the caaaaaaaaaaaarrr omg” ![]()
Taught Duckling the basic chain stitch in crochet. He made it through the frustration and is excited to do more!
Duckling (9yo) took tuna and carrot for lunch today! Thanks to social influence of his friends he started trying sushi several months ago, liked it, and then last week we finally had a go at making it at home, which led to him mixing tuna & kewpie together to be wrapped by strips of carrot for his lunch today (all his own idea!) its been years since he was comfortable eating tuna regularly, maybe back when he was 5yo?
He has been a very picky eater and I am celebrating every new food still ![]()
(Our parenting part was to keep supplying safe foods, trying to remember to offer from our own plates and try really hard not to make food stressful).
That’s so exciting! Yay Duckling!
