Things that have kept me alive (IV fluids, thyroid hormone replacement, defibrillator) weren’t widely available until the 1950’s. Took them 50+ years to go from “first demonstration” to “readily available”.

The surgery that saved little dude’s life when he was 2 weeks old wasn’t developed until the 70’s or 80’s.
The meds that make me borderline functional were developed in the past decade.
