I just watched a young women run full pelt up the street to catch a bus…that pulled away just as she reached it.
Probably not funny for her in that moment, but funny because we’ve all been there. And I also picture the bus driver doing it deliberately. Just giving her enough of a glimmer of hope then driving off, with an evil chuckle.

I’m so intrigued! The ones pictured are made with lots of underpinnings: cages, bum rolls, full panniers, the works. They would have been quite a pain to get in and out of but served to show precisely how much expensive fabric you could afford. So the wider or rounder or more ruffled the better.
