Yeah I’m another one where all I really want is a handful of close friends.
I reached out to a former colleague who I last connected with in Octoberish, and we had an hour long conversation Tuesday evening.

My husband brings me coffee frequently. It’s great as I’m clumsy and rather foggy first thing in the morning, which makes me tend to be GRUMPY!
And of course, he is my best friend.

I’ve just been reminded about this post (thanks new gig!)- and thought it might be worth noting for posterity that a quick Facebook chat turned into lockdown walks, turned into her offering to let me and my housemates live with her for a few weeks (which turned into 3 months) when our housing situation got complicated, and me designing the art for her wedding.
So in retrospect, definitely a friendship success story!

Ooh I have a good success story too! I reached out to 2 different people with small children for playdates, that I knew only incidentally. Both resulted in good chats and I hope longer term friendships, but even if they don’t, it was really good and I feel confident about doing more asks when I see people I’d like to hang with!
