Would you like some of the crazy seeds I just ordered? Or maybe you have friends who would want some? There will be plenty to share and I would be happy to send you some. I also have some Floret dahlia seeds and a couple of other kinds.

I’m getting awfully close to freezing overnight, so I hope the buds I have now actually bloom.

I think I’m good, but thanks! I will DM you when I get the new seeds.

I don’t think I will get very many more. :smiling_face_with_tear: it’s going to be a long winter.

these are so beautiful! it’s making me want to grow some bigger dahlia varieties next year.

i placed an order from swan island for next spring. where will i plant them all? how dare you ask me this question :joy:

Same. I ordered 8 more tubers for spring plus have lots of seeds that I want to start so I can see what they look like. Mine get really tall and the plants themselves are not very attractive so I’m limited on where I can put them.

If you DM me your address I would love to send you some dahlia seeds.

Do yours get super tall? Most of mine are 6’- 7’ tall. Maybe next year I shouldn’t fertilize them?

Also! If anyone else wants some dahlia seeds, send me your address. I have plenty and am truly running out of space.

I had a few left today!

@madgeylou have you seen this? I think it’s pretty new because not many people have them available.

Ooh I saw some people had grown them and I tried to buy some but no one had them on sale! Going to look now, thanks for the tip :eyes:

She is not open for sales this year yet, i got on her mailing list. It’s expensive but it might need to be my splurge for the year.

Good idea!

Whoops! I had these in my garage and I think a few of them froze last night and split. Do I have to throw them out? Should I store them and see what happens?

Dahlias have been stored. All fingers crossed that they survive the winter.

fingers crossed! i haven’t dug mine out yet — i might leave a bunch in so they come up early! it worked last year and i have new varieties arriving in the spring anyhow

@madgeylou I am going to try cool flowers this spring, am I remembering correctly that you started seeds in milk jugs? When did you plant them in the ground? I believe we are in similar zones. I think my ground will be frozen solid in early March when it says to plant! Do you think I can do something like this:

start seeds mid January, leave under grow lights until they are 4-6" tall
put the jugs outside as soon as they are tall enough so they freeze
plant when I have a thaw (as early as possible, but might be April)
