Oh, please do!

Was it love at first sight?
We had to unexpectedly replace a car so with a second car payment I will hopefully get spending lower rather than higher in other categories.
Food anxiety spending strikes again, especially now that mr krmits’ job situation has stabilized :knock on wood:
Ordered a bottle of whiskey and a bottle of gin yesterday, and today when ordering more half and half, impulse-added bagels and cream cheese. At least it’s all from local businesses?
I spent a heap of money on shit to entertain us at home, plus functional items for our study that we had been putting off for years. I’ve bought kid’s toys, home & garden improvement items, an office chair and laptop dock (ouch, that was expensive but worth it), and a bunch of patterns and fabric for myself.
We don’t have any kind of online grocery shopping for the foreseeable future, which can I just say is horrible. We aren’t spending anything on work lunches, though, so, yay? I did spend as much as normal on groceries this month because I did a bunch of stocking up (nothing out of the ordinary for us, but I was setting us up after seeing the bushfires a month or two ago) and well, that turned out to be needed to get us between shopping trips instead.
yas.
New flavors of donuts, including tiramisu and creme brulee vegan donuts are out… and they’re still open and doing take out/delivery only.
…I’m just saying, it’s getting extremely easy for me to justify stress snax as “supporting local business.”
Yesterday I was so stressed because of a miscommunication that had me thinking H would be working with suspected positive cases that I spent $70 on burgers, shakes, fries, and cider in the name of supporting small business and not cooking dinner so that I didn’t melt into a puddle.
At least they were delicious and a lot of the $70 was the tip.
I stress-bought fabric this morning…
I would like to buy some damn weights for my house because I can’t keep using the cat as a freeweight but all of the weights I can find on amazon are like triple the normal price or sold out entirely. Wonder where else to go?
We are going to start buying take away from our local places we want to stay open. We almost never get take away so this category of spending will go up. I’ve also got some gift cards that I’ve found myself scrolling the websites for fancy dresses I’ll never wear ever. Trying to pick sensible things to use these on but I can also feel myself wanting to stress buy pretties.
Can you use a can of beans or something as a light weight?
Light weights are okay, but I need heavy weights. I have been using my cat and my skates, which are all around 5-10lbs. Maybe I stuff a bunch of books in a pack pack for deadlifts
Getting more cats is the only reasonable solution
Does vegan bakery downstairs give away or sell their empty food grade buckets like a lot of bakeries? Because a 5 gallon or smaller bucket filled (partway if too heavy) with something like water is a great thing to deadlift. (Each gallon of water is about 8 pounds.) With a smaller bucket you might even be able to simulate a kettlebell for 2 hand swings if the handle wasn’t too painful/flimsy.
When I was living in my tiny Paris apartment I would lift my carry on bag full of stuff. It worked really well. Also don’t forget that water is decently heavy and relatively compact so if you have any gallon or big containers those can work well and usually are a bit easier to manage as weights since they tend to have handles. I use BKR bottles and their 1L bottle is like almost 4lbs when full (someone on IG measured it and was doing workouts with it )
When I want to stress buy pretty things but want to be somewhat practical I like to buy underwear or fancy PJs. I bought these really comfortable nightgowns that are cute, allow me to nurse (but aren’t ‘nursing clothes’), have lace, and are pretty. Felt like a splurge but also really practical since I use them all the time. Underwear just makes me feel good and scratches the itch when I want to do something that is fancy and just for me.
Normally i suggest Titan fitness, but everything says out of stock. Which I think just means they’re on COVID hiatus.
There’s a place in Missouri I used to use, not sure what their shipping is like, but according to their latest FB posts they’re still shipping orders. ShowMe Weights (showmeweights.com) Their website sucks, but it might be worth calling them and seeing what they have in their used weights category and how much shipping is.
Link? I’ve been thinking I need some nightgowns. My sleep t-shirts are getting super ratty.
