For anyone who has been considering them- the Spicy Shelf is on amazon lightening deal today for 25% off. They were a HUGE help for my spice and medication storage, and I learned about it from a decluttering thread, so figured I’d mention it!
Ack. That’s tempting. Wizard and I need some way of doing spice storage better; I need to ask him when he wakes up…
I can take photos of my setup if that’ll help you evaluate? But basically it just makes everything visible and accessible, and the non slip surface means I don’t accidentally knock it all over. We’ve used it at two places now and liked how it worked, but of course YMMV.
Honestly the only reason I’m not just buying it is that it’s plastic – it looks fantastic. We really need some sort of spice shelving to make use of vertical space, and that’s a great way of doing it. I’m just trying to think Very Carefully about buying new plastic things right now!
I have a bamboo three tier expandable shelf that holds a ton of spices.
The laptop and mouse are gone forever.
there is a post it up advertising the old laptop
I found a tent to sell or give, that I thought was already gone
I’m overwhelmed and stressed by the influx of a second wardrobe PLUS a very small amount of baby stuff. I need to find diaper storage to reduce stress. I also need to be wary of crossing the line into stuff is stressful throw it allll away. My closets still don’t look like inspo closets.
I filled our bin with rubbish that had been sitting in the garage waiting to be removed “some time…”
Oh my, I have let the decluttering go and my house is cluttered up. I think a set of shelves in our Harry Potter cupboard will help a lot (everything in there is just sitting on the floor, not very nice) and I’ve been googling lots of pictures of cheap and easy milk crate shelves. I might see if i can source some old shelves from Buy Nothing and set up a couple of easy shelves in there while I find something a bit less college-studenty.
We put in 2 levels of those white wire shelves in our harry potter closet and it was life-changing to our organization there. Now there is enough room for us to have hanging stuff on one side (keys, leashes, most often used coats/jackets and then swiffer/brooms) and on the other side shelves with room to stand/walk in between. The room to walk in between is important because that closet is our safe room in case of hurricane/tornado.
Depending on what kind of shelves you want, I may be able to help. We have two moderately-sized metal shelving units in good condition that could do with new homes.
Ooh that could work! I was thinking about just going to Bunnings and getting a couple of the cheap metal shelving but obviously then I felt guilty about buying new lol
I will take photos tonight and send to you for consideration
You are amazing, thank you
Yes, so generous in trying to offload my junk to you… (These shelves are not junk at all, but are useless to me, so effectively junk in my context.)
Your junk might be my treasure though!
I’ve sold a few more things son poshmark. Each item netting me $2-5 dollars. It’s annoying but more money than Goodwill gives me for donations so I’m sticking with it.
Also added another baby outfit to the donate pile. Anyone else’s mom relive their mothering days by buying 90s baby outfits for their grandkid? Just mine?
Managed to convince some poor schmuck to take my metal shelving units
Poor said schmuck is pleased with said shelving units.
Picking the low hanging fruit this weekend by decluttering baby clothes. We got a lot of gifts and some hand-me-downs that are surplus to any theoretical second baby needs.
Soaked, and washed and ready to list on buy nothing as a set and if we get no takers over to the op shop.
Actually, I am SUPER pleased with the shelves! I would put up a photo of my tidy Harry potter cupboard but it’s kinda boring. Wish I’d taken a before photo for my comparison! Thank you!!!
