there is a study

This morning I watched the latest Space Maker episode of clearing out storage lockers (she must have been spending over $1k a month) and got the push to go through a pile of work papers. About 40 pages need to be shredded at the next community environment day (theyāre old, but the ops leadership person in me will feel better this way), and just 4 pieces of paper kept for now.
Just over an inch of papers going to the recycling bin
Also identified some more things that I can post in November for people who want holiday tins, packaging, etc. I have put in a note in my calendar to help me remember
Exactly. And what has my kid mostly been playing with lately? A stack of white paper, sticky notes and a roll of making tape.
found another bag of paper from the interview process and onboarding at the last ft job in ~2019. It had a document about the ideal future state of the team in 2025. all of it is now in recycling
4 tshirts and a handful of costume jewellery being taken by the shadowy one to the donation bins at the local thrift shop
there are 4 shoeboxes of trinkets and mementos stressing me. the little things are so much cognitive load for so little positive benefit
A bag of craft supplies I will not use is being picked up by a krewemate who is new and has nothing! Yay!
Cleaned out my pantry and donated 4 large bags of stuff to the local food bank!
One bag of small, unnamed stuffies and one bag of trash have been removed from Kiddoās room! I did a quick pass of the books but I think that happened recently enough that I canāt purge anything else there till next summer.
Somehow I am adding more google use as I degoogle- but Iām down about 20units of photos so those email addresses will get mail. I just canāt yet find a safe way to host all my photos (and then should actually declutter more since a lot are just clutter)
(I have proton drive for storage but my laptop is struggling with the actual files to move them)
I cleared off the puzzle table and then I dumped a puzzle on it so it wonāt gather more stuff.
There were two pairs of cleats that I cleaned and put in the consignment tub and a bin of mysteriously soiled Build a Bear clothes that I sorted into: unsalvageable (threw away), washable, and āneeds lint roller.ā
I will probably save these for the cuckoo
I have taken the things for donation in November out of the closet in the basement and put them in a spot where they will be obvious. Not sure if I should bother donating some of them, or if they are just nice packaging that should go into the garbage.
I think I need to dig further thru crafting supplies and be really honest about what I am actually going to use. Iāve got stuff in here that I legit do not like.
4 books out to the little library
I added 2 leg warmers Iād used once in a year (bought them in the 2025 Labor Day rummage) to the 2 bags of clothing donations. The bags were put into the local churchās clothing bin yesterday.
Iām ādeclutteringā the garden. I have a lot of sage to give away. I phoned a local organization and theyāll take it. Yay! Canadian Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away.
I decided to see what I could do in a very short amount of time? I can sweep our stairs and the entry in < 10 minutes. That sort of makes NOT doing it ridiculousā¦
Took the chairs and stools to the restore. SO also packed up a bunch of random tools and things to take. Surprisingly they would not take any railing hardware as they have too much.
SO will be taking it to the dump tomorrow, which is unfortunate. But Iām happy to have it out of the house.
Do I need my thesis I wrote for my BA? Iām thinking that stack of paper can be recycled. And if I ever want to read it again I can go to the university library and find it.
I think thatās your answer!
After several days of silence, I was thinking of taking them down and reposting at a steeper discount, but this morning I received 1 message for each of the pairs I posted. Fingers crossed.
(ETA: it was a mistake to put the boots as pending so early in the posting period, I should have left them fully up in case the first person ending up passing on them, which is what happened. putting this here for anyone else looking to use Marketplace as part of their process. Since I usually give things away for free it isnāt so much of an issue)
Yeah but what if!,I need it for some reason!!!
jammed shredder unit at the front door to be put out for trash pickup tomorrow. We have tried and failed to fix it several times, and we donāt need to continue storing it just in case someone figures it out.
