Can she have some of them but the rest go into long term storage, like wherever the holiday stuff gets stashed? Until she actually starts playing with them more.
Brought to you by clearing out multiple Kiwi Co boxes that never got finished or extra pieces were kept “just in case”. I’ve gotten some out, Kiddo saw one that had an actual activity in it so decluttering got paused to make little pom poms, then Kiddo and Pom (the smallest pom pom) had a snack.
This is the WORST. They’re such cool projects! But they store SO terribly, and they’re not always sturdy enough to keep long-term. My kids always want to keep the boxes for “crafts” too, so I’ve got pieces of Kiwi Boxes everywhere.
I remember my grandpa did woodwork in his basement, it always smelled like sawdust when we visited. I think he did small handicrafts and decorations, though. It would be amazing to have furniture that he made
omg right there with you. It’s wild that I’ve literally been complaining about how small our house is, but it’s actually a REASONABLY sized house for 3 people. Most of it is that we have too much stuff.
Anyway today we sorted cables and computer parts but have not made any decisions about what is to go and trying to pin down my better half to make decisions about what he wants to keep is not working
Me, to me, about our storage. Is it the storage of a modern new build in Iowa that some YouTuber has? Definitely not. But in the real world should it be TOTALLY FINE for 4 people and a dog? Yes.
Reporting back that we sorted a bag of cables to leave the house. Wooh! I also went through the general pile of stuff and found a box that could be put away, and a pile of empty leaver arch files to be put back in the study. Tomorrow’s task is going through a couple of grocery bags worth of random items and papers.
I am being SUCH a good sister guys. A few weeks back he texted and was like “we’re switching everything to the black Costco bins for consistent sizing, do you want the other bins back?” And so now I’m packing it all in black bins.
Hopefully this makes up for the time I tried to weight a pillow down with a dumbbell and dropped it on his head when we were children
Did another pass through a bunch of clothes I had packed away in a storage bin last time I was decluttering - a bunch more moved to donate stash, 2 things moved to recycle stash, remaking items hung up in my closet - which was about half empty from the last purge.
I actually thought I had another storage bin. So I got rid of more stuff last time than I thought. I might make another pass through my long sleeved tees tomorrow.
ETA: I couldn’t stand it and went through my long-sleeve tees - and got rid of one. But also spotted a pair of gym shorts I will never wear again, and a quarter zip top. When the mood strikes I need to do it rather than wait for the next geologic era to arrive.
