I hope it finds its person. I just had to throw away 2 mugs because of cracks and believe it or not, I actually need a mug. So we’re out there.

the wrapping looked lovely and when I was younger I would have thought it was the Cat’s Pyjamas.

Chuck works at a Hardware store, with lots of young people, so hopefully someone there gets it who feels that way now

All returns are out of the house, we are at return zero! Feels good.

Did not think this was possible. Iconic!

I still have some clothes + a pile of other stuff to return to friends so our entrance is still chaotic, but getting better!

There is always a pile I swear!

Part of my pile includes the beverage dispenser that leaked the entire party. Unfortunately my husband helped cleanup and I don’t know which of the two had the problem. So I need to fill both with water before I can know which needs to be returned.

So many boxes broken down and recycled

We just did this! Our recycling bin was full and we had an embarrassingly large pile waiting in the garage. (Whyyyy is our trash weekly and our recycling and compost EOW argh) anyway, pile is now partially gone. It’ll be a battle until after the holidays (we’re also the delivery point for all my mom’s purchases, oof) but it’s progress!

Wait weird! In our old neighborhood (PDX) our trash was EOW and everything else was every week. It worked fine unless you forgot to put the trash out one week, and then were stuck with it for a month

I’m not in PDX proper, just nearby.

Ah got it. Me too, now.

That sounds foul. Ewww. It’s one thing for recycling but compost?

Denver tried doing weekly recycling but it was twice the mileage for a marginal increase in recycling picked up so they are going back to EOW. Holiday time is going to be tricky…

I had a tree guide I gave one neighbor for Christmas and a high-yield veggie garden book I gave to another. Yay! They both were enthusiastic and I got rid of 2 books! I have another tree guide I like better and the veggie garden book is a dupe…

Something new to get rid of… my delicates bag. I use it about 2x a year. Just read an old hint book’s laundry section… they talk about tying a pillow case shut over delicate items. Score! One less thing to buy, store, and maintain… thank you.

I had to make a coffee shop stop, and since I’m also supposed to be saving money, I dug out a gift card that has been sitting in my wallet for literal years with what I remembered was a very silly amount. Reader, it was $1.13 :woman_facepalming:t2: but it knocked my coffee down by a dollar and now there’s one less card in my wallet.

I down loaded a new app (Karrot) and managed to offload two things in 30 hours - my breast pump and cloth diapers. Both of which I can’t donate or sell other than directly to a human. The rest of my listings are being viewed and liked so hopefully things move.

I also used a plastic dresser (boys got new dressers for New Year) to unpack the between kid sizes of clothes. I have 5 pairs of 3T pants pulled to list for sale and should cull more. (B1 had serious potty struggles at 3T).

I can see a small square of the top of my dresser and a path of closet floor!

Everyone says have your toddler help your chores. I am organizing books and I am not convinced he’s helping.

I have at least two boxes of books to give away!

Laundry, clean dishes, sweeping, dusting. Those are the only ones I can have help with on a normal day without going utterly insane :joy: there’s a reason I was barely able to declutter until Latte started preschool.

Been whacking away at the books, again. Biggest thing i can say is that this process only works when I honor myself. This is stressful for me. I take lots of breaks and let myself get up from the computer to put the books where they need to, now (dump swap bag, stack for the antique store, box to be donated to the bookstore) all of which are in separate rooms.

With the breaks, I can get thru a large quantity of books in an hour or two. Without them? I get anxious, find reasons to look at YouTube by the hour, or find some other thing to clean/clear/do…

This has been one of the HARDEST things for me to learn. I can’t just do this. I have to honor the PTSD and how hard it is for me and let myself do what feels right, rather than beating myself up for not being able to sit for 1 hour plus at one go.

It is what it is. With breaks? I get it done. WIthout them? I move the books around and don’t get it done. 'Nuff said.
