I am seeking a 3d printing pattern for organizer inserts for my IKEA Alex rolling flat drawer file. I want to stop using individual snap-shut bead boxes (embroidery floss organizers from Michaels) and just have open top trays that I can lift out of the drawers in my rolling cabinet. Alternately, I’m also considering ready-made acrylic trays.
LOL, well, it turns out that of course HE knows every site that has programs! But now that I know TOO, he’s willing to print what I want, so it’s still extremely helpful. Thank you.
Does Diabetes declutter come to pick up right at the house in your neighbourhood? They did in my old neighbourhood. I’d tell people that they had until X date to pick up, because that was when the donation truck was scheduled
(There was a donation box a half block away, but the stuff would pile and pile up. So eventually I just started booking pickups once a month and clearing stuff out that way)
I borrowed something from a friend and lost part of it, and can’t find it. This is totally unacceptable and I’m mad at myself, my house, my family, etc clearly time to declutter some more. When I’ll get time for that??? Unclear. But clearly another round of it has to happen.
I asked the shadowy one about a couple of knick knacks that were afaik not emotionally laden. They agreed that those things could go to the value village, and then took them there this afternoon! I should have told them to take the boots too, but I wasn’t thinking clearly.
And someone messaged me on FB to say they’re interested in the dresses.
I’ve dropped a couple of tshirts and a silk scarf in the bag with the dresses for the person who says they will be picking them up on Sunday. A bit cheeky perhaps, but they are the same size and colour families as the dresses. More in keeping of the bags I used to just put up on freecycle.
Taking off a few things from the more visible spaces, and it feels a bit bare. Which is objectively silly, there is still a lot of stuff around, but the adjustment feels outsized. Mostly I focus on the things which have been squirrelled away, so I don’t experience that on the regular from my decluttering.
finding new homes for a number of cardigans and a dress means that there is more room in my dressers. I moved my handknits that need to be altered into a different drawer from the sweaters that are in regular rotation, so the regular sweaters don’t constantly need to be jammed back in or left out because it’s too annoying to do tetris.
And I’ve separated out the workout clothing from leisure clothing and made it more easily accessible (very atomic habits of me).
Pulled a small HD box from the attic on Tues. Last night I went thru the entire thing. I am keeping 2 pieces from it; it was all Christmas decorations. The rest of it: handblown balls, HM Christmas beaded garland, etc. is either in the dump bin for the swap shop OR going to the antique store tomorrow.
I kept: a flat, ceramic piece that looks like the shaggy dog DH & I had when we were roomies. A beautiful frosted glass, handmade rocking horse unicorn ornament. In the dump bin: plastic apples, 1/2 the wooden German creche. I don’t know where the rest of the creche is, or I’d sell it. Most of the box was the fancy, high-end glass balls I used to use and haven’t for more than 5 years now?
We haven’t had a tree for a while. I used to go nuts over Christmas at the store. I had a science fiction bookstore and did a SF tree every year – my tree topper was a hand puppet of a BEM alien in a flying saucer. It was great fun. And in the 9 years I did that, I stopped doing a tree at home. So these Christmas balls got put in a bowl in the past few years, if they did even that… so why keep them?
Originally, when I moved them here 30+ years ago, we still thought the next generation would want them, but not so…
This barely counts, but I organized my fountain pen ink samples and removed the label and cleaned one sample vial that I had effectively used up. I had more samples still to try in my Metropolitan (my EDC) than I thought!
Sold 3 fountain pens this weekend to a lady I’ve sold a pen to previously. So now I’m in her phone as the “pen crack dealer” . She is super fun to talk to, so it was a nice social interaction in addition to clearing out pens I don’t use and getting some money.
