Dairy-free cheese suggestions?

I had to unearth this thread to post this cheese that I’d never had before today, but it is AMAZING. Like, eat multiple slices out of the package amazing. It is not as good melted, so definitely more of a sandwich/snacking type of cheese, which I feel like is actually harder to find

Yeah I really like violife. They have a Parmesan wedge you can grate that is pretty darn good too. Shreds don’t melt as gooey as Daiya but I like the flavor better. In my experience fancy vegan cheeses are really good if you can find specialty stores that carry small gourmet or hyper local brands — they’ll usually be basically cultured nut milk. We have a guy near Philly that makes a FANTASTIC rind cheese and even a damn good mozzarella. You unfortunately won’t find it beyond here and very occasionally NYC vegan events though.
