Lots of folks scrape the paste on to the toothbrush, creating contact between the bristles and the opening of the tube itself

Did my first runner trip today – a neighbor woke up with a fever and needed to get a prescription. So, I grabbed her prescription, some paper products for some friends, some beer for Wizard, and a couple of grocery sundries (tortilla chips, peanut butter) at the CVS.

Glad I can at least be moderately useful for folks.

Oooh I see.

I’m sorry. The only thing I can think of is to say it’s a marathon, not a sprint so dialing back on the news consumption can only help. That might not be great with depression though.

@Illathrael @Bracken_Joy

Okay how the hell do you people use toothpaste!?!?!?
I’ve only ever known the ā€œsquirt, scrapeā€ technique and had no idea there was… another way? :open_mouth: !!!

I too want to know the answer to this. I don’t know how you completely avoid scraping – like, every time.

Sorry, didn’t mean to imply that I didn’t do that, I totally do that. But I’ve never thought about doing it before. This is the first time I’ve had to think about it/explain it?

If I’m being 100% honest, half the time I don’t use toothpaste anymore because I’m more likely to brush when I’m in a depression slump if I don’t add that extra step.

It’s the only way. And also why I wouldnt share with someone outside my household. Unless in non pandemic times I scraped off onto toilet paper first

I dunno, I kinda scrape, but also kinda tail it off like you do piping frosting if that makes sense? I use the paste not the gel, dunno if that makes a difference. I’d guess I have minimal contact but wouldn’t want to share with someone with a communicable disease lol.

Welp, apparently we’re about to shut down our borders for 6 months? But we’re not closing schools. I feel like we’re missing something in this equation.

I am so very glad I set up chat groups with my FOO, Ponder’s FOO and our extended families a couple of months ago. Those and a couple of friend chat groups are keeping me afloat right now.

Oh shit. Well, my friend isn’t coming home anytime soon :joy: her visa is up in 3? Months I think? We were just talking about how she’s had a bunch of pet sitting gigs canceled and she wasn’t sure she could make it back to the US.

Kid-1 was informed today that someone on her floor at work is positive, so she’s officially quarantined for the next 14 days.

SSO and I don’t use the same toothpaste, but it’s mostly because we both travel so often and because SSO has like $40 prescription toothpaste.

I had no idea sharing toothpaste was a common thing! I always thought of the toothbrush and the toothpaste like a set, and everyone has their own set.

I had no idea NOT sharing toothpaste was a thing! I have always shared toothpaste with a partner.

Same. And my whole family shared a tube growing up (per bathroom anyway)

Guess I can kiss my surgery (temporarily) goodbye. Unless sterilization as a form of bc isn’t considered elective (waiting to hear back from my clinic on that one).

To be fair I am (apparently) kind of…weirdly territorial and private about bathroom things.

I never used to share my toothpaste. However partner ran out a few months ago and this just simply… Happened. Just to validate other’s experiences. The toothpaste tangent to now be closed sorry for the off-topic.

My mom is trying to get me (bribe me) to stop working for a month and also to stay 6 feet away from my daughter, who lives with me in a 700 square foot apartment with one bathroom. I just don’t think I can do that. Am I unreasonable?
