A pharmacist in my state is accused of destroying 500 doses of the vaccine.
Just a little nice uplifting story for ya’ll.

Wow. With how limited the distribution has been I would have expected there would be at minimum a system of dual control around handling the vaccines. How inexcusable and disgusting! (In other words, I can’t help but blame the pharmacist’s employer for a lack of secure protocol).
WTAF? What kind of crackpot conspiracy theory channel told him this was a good idea?
I didn’t read the article but I hope that person is in jail.
Not mentioned in that article but that person has been fired, so that’s a start at least. Basically it’s as if they destroyed between $8,000 and $11,000 worth of hospital equipment, even ignoring the WTFery of what they did to the patients.
Right?!? Isn’t the antivax thing supposed to be about all the other suspect ingredients in vaccines, leaving it out at room temp doesn’t get rid of those! But I guess logic isn’t supposed to be a strong suit for the antivaxxers?
Well I think the idea would be to prevent people getting it, not somehow make it “safer”.
“The pharmacist, a man whom the police did not name, was arrested on recommended charges of first degree recklessly endangering safety, adulterating a prescription drug and criminal damage to property, all felonies. He is being held in the Ozaukee County jail.”

True, their intent was probably it not being injected, not being warm then injected.
That shit is minimally criminal negligence. I’d personally love to see people who pull that kind of shit tried for attempted murder.
I’m currently reading The NY Times behind the curve series, about what happened in the early days of the pandemic in several places. Warning: it’s depressing.
Big question for me is: will we (collectively) learn these lessons for the future?
Welp, a bar just down the street from Wrigley Field got shut down for having a huge non-socially distant unmasked NYE party…
I know it does no good to get angry about this, but it’s people like that who are making it unsafe for me to walk into CVS and pick up my damned prescription. It’s so frustrating.
This is what California looks like with an emergency stay-at-home order and no indoor dining, just in case anyone was wondering why cases are skyrocketing in spite of the order. I was hiding in the only place I could get kind of clear of people, and there was still someone about 3 feet from me. I waited 20 minutes there for the customer’s order. This shows about 1/10 of the restaurant. Every table was full.
That’s insane!
We have a couple of restaurants in Washington state that are flouting the dining-in ban and racking up fines. I don’t think it is pervasive, though. But I haven’t done anythiing but pick up takeout 1-2x/month since February. Nobody dining in during times it has been banned in our favorite restaurants, though
That’s fucking horrifying.
Ahhhhhhh
I haven’t seen that around here, but people are exceotionally compliant here.
Some of those customers are older! Why! Why why! Just get take out dudes. Ugh.
Overall, almost all of the big chains are complying with the order, and most of the local chains and independent restaurants look like this.
When the order was issued, our county sheriff issued a video statement saying he would not enforce it. So…
Boy, that looks a lot like what it looks like here. And we don’t have any order. All of the fast food places have big signs up saying Dining Room Open!
I’m empathetic (though don’t agree with) people who violated orders to see family for holidays and such, but whyyyyyyy would you go to an indoor restaurant when literally hospitals in some parts of the state are putting patients in the gift shop? Like - I can’t understand at all what goes through somebody’s head? Do they think COVID is a hoax and the hospital photos are faked???
