Child enrichment (cheap and easy preferred)

I watched a few videos on tummy time so far and I liked them a lot. I think I’m gonna make DH download the app too

You might enjoy motherhood and milestones on Instagram if you have it, I found a lot of her infant play/PT ideas super helpful.

I’ll keep that one in mind! Not on instagram at the moment, but that might change.

Oh I remembered some emails I enjoy getting, especially when she was little. I used the free version of the Playfully app. Their emails are great too.

I am not normally a crafty parent, but Latte has been liking scissors so I decided to add some seasonal pizzaz to a cutting activity. Strips so they’re easier to cut, leaves for some interest/challenge. I just free handed some shapes.

Snow painting! This kept them outside for another 15 minutes before they dumped it all out and soaked their mittens

For those with toddlers, I highly recommend the game “Monkey Around”! It’s short and easy and fun for kids to play.

D2 (2.5) has been sitting here for 20 minutes completely engrossed in doing the buttons on one of DH’s shirts! This is the 2nd morning in a row that this is her preferred activity.

For anyone who doesn’t know about these books, they are every. We have ones with numbers and letters. They are great for recognition and fine motor skills and just simply focusing for a short period of time.

I know these aren’t cheap, but I want to put a plug out for magnet blocks, especially if some is looking for Christmas present ideas. We bought these for Christmas when D1 had just turned 1 and she had used them every single day for 4 years. I just had that realization while watching the girls play with them

Same same! My kids play with them just about every day.

FYI we bought Picasso tiles and they have held up great. The regular tiles at least - the pieces for the marble run kit sucks.

Yes - ours are also picasso tiles! We have 2 of the big sets.

I don’t know the Picasso ones in particular but my advice for anyone shopping off brand is make sure the tiles are FLAT. Some have ridged edges that are hard to clean.

My kids also use the Picasso tiles we have tons! They have definitely been one of the better cost to use purchases we have made.

Agree. I like too that they’re good for quiet time and travel. I can leave just enough for a small building in Latte’s room and it’s engaging enough for her to play a bit before bed, but not get so distracted there’s no chance of sleep. And they stack and stay together really well for taking along on trips and flights. Store small.
