Such a moment in Canadian tv history

A little while ago I was tracing the root of my financial knowledge to Street Cents, on CBC. Jonathan Torrens before Trailer Park Boys.
So then I hummed the street cents theme for days.

EQ has sent a note saying they will drop rates after the next announcement from BoC.

At least with the Tangerine promotion the rate stays the same until the end

As a person with a bunch of mortgages I wonā€™t be mad if the interest rate drops to nothing again (I donā€™t think it will), but Iā€™ll miss the lovely high interest savings accounts. The pros and cons of each change impact me in the long term.
(No variable rate mortgages, but a few are up for renewal soon)

I think the gap between tangerineā€™s default rate and the eq notice account still makes it worthwhile to hold in eq unless you have a compelling offer.

I think the Notice Account will still be healthy. I speculate 4.25-4.5 for their announcement when it comes out versus the current 5%.

Hi everyone. Iā€™ve been looking for a detailed daily planner made in Canada. Kudos if it is aimed at active seniors running a business! :grinning:.

In the past Iā€™ve used Polestar Press , but they are no longer detailed enough for me. Any other options out there?

I bought two planners on this website, but she doesnā€™t make english planners. She sells some, but it is not her planners. https://papieretlatte.com/

I found this website, they seem to sell the same style of planners, and are Canada based, but I donā€™t find the info on where they have been made.

Hi @LadyElizabeth I canā€™t read French well enough to use a French planner.

The second one looks good, but Iā€™m not sure, as the website doesnā€™t show the actual planner pages. I might contact them though. I need something with an hourly breakdown, from 8 AM to 8 PM, every day. Except maybe the weekends.

Has anyone here ever sold an investment property?

Donā€™t make me go to the other place with my questions.

Yes.

Not the person you expected :joy:. Also probably with limited answers to follow up questions

Google is failing to give clear answers. I can deduct the costs associated with selling from the purchase price. Does that only mean realtor and lawyer or does it also include painting and cleaning and stuff?

I knew your domestic economic unit had sold stuff, I wasnā€™t sure how involved you were in the details.

Yes but it might have been a percentage? But also I kept the steam cleaner so maybe that was why.

What were the unexpected complications and expenses?

Do you bring money to the closing lawyer appointment to pay them and the realtor or is it taken out of the final payout?

Taken out of the final payout. Some was held back and arrived months or a year later. We deducted for cleaning and maintenance costs. The renovations and maintenance were also extreme for the units only being lived in for a year/new construction. The second one I donā€™t think we bothered deducting anything because it just needed touch up. The first one needed new floors, full paint, new glass top for the stove and about 100 human hours cleaning and steaming off grease and stickers.
