Where are our good options for medium kid shoes? We’ve been doing Carter’s and Sketchers. Sketchers still seem good but usually no deals if we aren’t in person. I’ve also been happy with Van’s and a few other surprise contenders but want to find a single good brand to follow sizes in (maybe that is Sketchers but I face one more in person trip).

My kids wear Skechers and I buy them from the Shoe Company. If I know the style and size I buy one size ahead during sales and get it shipped.

shoppers has the good PC chocolate at $2.50 a bar if they haven’t already been cleared out.

I’m only telling you this because you don’t live near my shoppers. (Also, there were only two bars left at our store when the shadowy one discovered this)

WS beats most of those for $0.

Ugh. I don’t want to switch banks.

Also are they saying they’ll remove phone support for the lowest tier? That seems like an excellent compliance choice for a bank with no branches.

I think they’d still have phone support, just you’d have to wait on hold for longer.

blurred for language if small people are reading over your shoulder

which reminds me of Pluralistic: AI ā€œjournalistsā€ prove that media bosses don’t give a shit (11 Mar 2026) – Pluralistic: Daily links from Cory Doctorow

ā€œIf the purpose of a customer service department is to tell people to go fuck themselves, then a chatbot is obviously the most efficient way of delivering the service. It’s not just that a chatbot charges less to tell people to go fuck themselves than a human being – the chatbot itself means ā€œgo fuck yourself.ā€ A chatbot is basically a ā€œgo fuck yourselfā€ emoji.ā€

:joy:. Small people ran upstairs fighting so I took my phone off the mantle before I face them.

That is an accurate description of a chatbot’s function.

I wonder if Tangerine actually want to charge bank fees or want to convince people to invest in their managed funds/quit transferring accounts to wealth simple.

For real? :exploding_head: Holy shit. I would switch. Those proposed fees are ridiculous.

Should I put away our warm winter coats/snowpants? So far the latest shovel putting away has caused no issues. We all have puffers and raincoats…

Also Tardis and Smacky I’m sorry. You have it so so much worse than we do

It was a test, so I’m guessing they received reasonable feedback from their customers & it’s unlikely to go forward as presented. I’m sad they wanted to size the opportunity/risk.

Learned today that my local MP office can notarized documents. I needed a document notarized for my out of province birth certificate, and when I called the town office they referred me to our MP. When I called the MPs office they told me to show up and they would do it on the spot. Best of all it was free instead of paying my lawyer $75!

Thank-you for this information. Hubby and I need a notarized form requesting an out-of-province marriage certificate.

Apparently I’m just posting coupons! I didn’t get this promo previously and this is my third Food Basics order, so the HELLO3 processed.
